A$$holes
05/15/10 9:21 PM

Today I was ridding around and and some guy with his girl wanted to race against me the guy had an older blue gsxr750 which is a nice bike I like them all I am not a hater, This guy tailgates me for about 10 miles coming close to my rear tire in sharp corners and then passing me and slowing down so I would pass him errr it was annoying because I just wanted a nice drive through the canyons so I pulled over and let him pass me and got back on the road after like 5 minutes (Itchy nuts haha) , Once back on the road the a$$hole is up ahead waiting for me like 3 miles down the road and I didn't know what to do but turn around and head back home, as I got home my mother ( I am a mommas boy ) was listening to the police scanner and told me they pulled over a blue bike and glad it wasn't me. It was the same asshole that was on my ass because the cop described there backpacks on the radio, They were getting searched lol So later this evening I went back out and had some fun with no a$$holes on my a$$hole. I wont race anyone unless the road is great and there is big money involved, Why would anyone want to race a zx14 with a gsxr750 just for fun ? I would rather have my bike running then wrecking it around some corner because I wanted to prove something and another thing that dude had his girl on the back ! I would never do that shit never would I put my girl in harms way, that just goes to show what he really thinks of her and gambles both there lives just so he can say he went up to a zx14 tsk tsk tsk...... I can just hear him now telling his buddies that the zx14 guy was scared lol

My question is do any of you fellow riders get negative attention when you are on your zx14?
Do you think people (other sport bike riders) are jealous or intimidated by the zx14 ?

Please share your stories, tips and advice

Well..I was out today for a bit...between thunderstorms! It was a sweet ride.Okay,I'm sittin doing something at a stop sign, gonna make a left turn(this is out in the "wilds"...two lane highway). Two guys on Harleys go rippin by.They WERE flyin pretty good(so I make a RIGHT TURN instead).WoHah....finally,some balsy Harley riders...this should be FUN!So I gets my arse out there and get with it.I'm givin em some room-had to catch em first. They're doin around 95..."pretty good" I says.I'm back there, don't want to tailgate or nothin, but they KNOW I'm there. They start passin cars.Ya,I'm right there as well. It's all good.Run like this for about 5 miles or so.They're definitely thinkin "Catch me Rice burner"...but I'm bein cool.Me back there, just watchin.Winds blowin the sh^% outta them,I can tell.Well...I can see this aint gonna go anywhere, they're NOT upping the ante. But I can see they think they're REALLY BADAZZ just the way they're passing and moving on their rides.Okay....funtime's over....We're all coming up on a semi. It's a passing lane.I'm expecting them to go for it...that's what they've BEEN doing. We're rollin..right near 100.They're not goin for it.They're waitin to see what I'm gonna do...I can tell.Okay, downshift I do,blinker...ya.Headcheck,got it.GAS...wohaa....baby takes off.Houston,we are go for throttle up,go for throttle up.FLYIN by em at over a hundred.I'm around them AND the semi in superb fashion yep!.Kept the candle lit.130,150.I'm like"where did they go?"I'm lookin back to see if they went for it.Geez...I've lost the semi and everything. Can't see em back there ANYWHERE.I know my TiForces were blastin quite well as I hammered by em.So much for American Iron!I get on up the road a ways....pull off to clean the mud and such off my baby.About 7,8 minutes goin by.Here they come.I just looked up and stood there watchin as they rolled by.Nary a look from em as I waved and smiled!(they did kinda LOOK badazz with those half helmets and their Blacked out NEW Harleys though!)I can only imagine what was goin through their minds as I lit the candle and virtually disappeared from sight within a couple of seconds....with their bikes most likely at redline, and mine not even breathin hard!WoHooooo...at least THESE two Harley riders gave it a good try....usually guys ridin Harleys will just pull over and wave me by...kinda spoils it sometimes.I'll just normally hang back....they probably think..."ya,Jap bullshi*,can't hang with my American Steel".It's so cool havin the biggest, baddest sportbike on the planet! These two harleys were the new "blacked out" softails...supposed to look retro and of course,KING of the road.Gotta say though, they did have some LOUD PIPES...guess that counts for somethin? I'm such an assho#$...I know. But I just couldn't help it.(I hate a dirty bike).

LOL Thats cool Blue I never had any trouble or run in's with "hardley" guys, I know a hardley guy who also drives a zx14 with nos but the guy rides the harley more for some reason. When I wrecked my zx14 2 years ago running away from cops it really changed my driving habits, I used to be a speed demon edging my tires, passing in between cars, doing wheelies racing all the kiddos in town with rockets lol. Now I drive like a tourist looking at everything enjoying the view I am thinking of trading in the 14 to get the new VFR1200 or a large BMW and let the ninja dream fade away. I will miss my bike no doubt but I will be rid of the attention that comes with the bike, Will be bike hunting next week :) Have a great day everyone I am off to have a lovely Sunday drive

Well I hope you get ya a sweet ride...I'll be keeping my baby...but the story I shared there is not my average ride.Like you,I've simmered down quite a bit. That episode yesterday was like, well, one in 15 or 20 rides.Almost all the bikes I encounter are GOING THE OTHER WAY,or just pulling in for gas! Ah,it's all good.Have a great ride NinjaRay!

I lived in the midwest and Harley's are highly allergic to our bikes. Here I parked in the middle of lot at J & P Cycle bike show where thousands of Harley's attend. No rider wanted to park near my bike, but many of them knew how fast my bike was because the show superbikes is very popular.

WoHoooo...they friggin KNOW better than to crowd the zx!Very Cool Pic!I love it!.I went to a much smaller deal here....they were showin off the new Visions and such, all cruisers.Harleys were in there too.I pulled up with my Bluebird....wended my way through the crowd of bikers on both sides(felt like I was swimming in a sea of sharks).Very cool. They all just kinda moved aside and watched as I went on thru.Probably thinkin"Friggin traitor...ridin that Jap crap".Nobody else was runnin their motors,so all you could hear was my TiForces with that badazz rumble.Couple of blips just to add some sauce to the goose. It felt REALLY GOOD to NOT have a bike like EVERYONE ELSE!I just parked er right there in the middle of em.Hung out for a few minutes...saw it was gonna be a drag....then went on my way, happy as a lark.Mission accomplished. Not one peep outta em.Our bikes just look so aggressive just sittin there...completely different from the chrome and black tubing.I Love it!

Do you think people (other sport bike riders) are jealous or intimidated by the zx14 ?

Yes. Definitely. I don't know what it is but everyone leaves me alone. It's very rare that anything wants to play anymore. It's probably the loud pipe. Lots of cops over the last year or 2 also.

Last summer, I did do a little chasing episode with a dude on a literbike who was riding 2 up like your friend you ran across. I ended up braking hard in a corner behind traffic on the expressway and I had to count on the other guy's skills to save us from a bike to bike rear ender. Not the kind of fun i want to have with someone i don't know at all. I think you're wise to play where you feel it's safest, Ray. And if the other guy is playing a game of "Who's mo crazy, beotch???" the best thing to do is bow out before you find the answer to that one. That's what I have done. Sometimes those little bikes have you in the manuverability dept. Well they should, anyway. There are a lot of guys on small bikes that still don't want to turn.

I don't feel any obligation nor tendency to try and "keep up". I didn't buy this bike to do that. I bought it to sport cruise. If I wanted to go crazy in the corners and had a 750/liter, I still wouldn't as I feel this kind of riding is best left on the track. Too many crazy drivers out there that can kill you when you riding sans hooligan mode, let alone when you decide to get crazy. I don't ride the speed limit often, but I'm not aggressive in the corners because I know all it takes is some idiot or some road hazard and that's all she wrote. My bike is simply too important to me.

I do think that picture is pretty awesome. I don't think they were thinking this, but maybe - "damn, not cool enough to park within 5 feet of that bike".

Ha...not cool...yeah,THEY'RE not cool!(well, okay,I know some cool Harley riders.......when they're BY THEMSELVES!!!HA!)I get em wavin me by ALL THE TIME! I hang back, and when they do that,I just usually wave like..."nah,I don't WANT to pass".For some reason, they seem to think I'm too dumb to understand"come on around"...cause they keep doin that wave thing. Then they pull over as far as they can into the right lane.WTF???Don't they think I'm enjoying lookin at their American Iron?I do like lookin at their rides.Hell...I owned one (two actually)once.I couldn't keep any fringe on the friggin floorboards though...everytime I came back from a ride,my custom work there was like....gone.Leather can be quite expensive.Used to piss me off.Poor Harley....everytime I kicked er up to 100 or so,the frontend wanted to get squirrely.I figured..."this pup's at least 800 lbs,geez...what's up with this?"Nice bikes though. All that nice steel and chrome on there.Very cool.Ah,what can ya say....guess my rice burner just can't match the legendary American Design.Oh well....another day, another "badazz"...probably stop fer gas before I can pass him in that 45 mph zone.At least I won't rack up anymore speedin tickets doin that. That VERY COOL pic there is way awesome...the rest of those bikes owner's there realize..."hey,she's a special roller...give er her props Bros".....wish I coulda been there as well...wohoo...LOVE that pic!

LOL-- Yet some guy managed to sneak his white Suzuki Borgman in! That thing will still whoop a Harley but none of the Harley riders think so.

Remember the story from a couple years back where the guy had training wheels on the Borgman while his wife was learning to ride? He used to take it out on the street and look for opportunities to drag race Harleys from one light to the next. I guess he never lost a race on his scooter with training wheels. lol Would I ever love to see that!

not to offend anyone but, harleys round my neck of the woods are known as saggy tit bikes, cos its usually only the retired or shit at riding fast bikes have them.

Privateer,

I think we can blame both the schools and texting for all the bad grammar and sentence structure. There are some posts that I won't even attempt to read. I used to get a headache trying to read one person in particular's posts.

We don't even want to get into things like penmanship or cursive writing. The keyboard is the death of handwriting. Texting will be the death of sentence structure!

All in good fun,

Erik

Here's a thought for ya....PRIV...I'm a certified commercial diver.....ever hear of 'breathhold' practice?....nope...didn't think so.How do you know I wasn't 'practicing' my breathhold abilities by writing the whole thing while holding my breath? There wouldn't be any punctuation to speak of if you were doing that....not only that...but you have NO idea how long I took to write my run on sentences...do you?I'm very proud of my sentence structure...considering some of it was being typed while I was at the edge of unconsciousness LOL!!!!!

Best to get the complete picture before making judgements I reckon....whattaya think?

My nephew the great welder is now a certified commercial diver and certified underwater welder, and will be leaving his land job for an oil rig job soon. At about 10 times the yearly salary as he has now.

He says Grn14 is lying.

"He says Grn14 is lying"....that's probably because he can't hold his breath for more than one minuteLOL!!!!.Your nephew knows me does he?It must run in the family LOL!!!

"commercial divers are not REAL divers BTW..."...uhm...okay...whatever ya say...how about 'open water certified' then to go along with it.And barometric chamber operator....okay "W"...do tell...what IS a REAL DIVER?

So many dweebs...so little time As yer nephew about emergency ascents....or boyle's law....BTW...what kind of welding rig is he gonna be using?Bell diving or ss?Ask him how many atm's he'll be diving at...and whether he'll need decompression tables made up BY HIM.

Ask him what he'd do at 110 feet and the repair job he is on suddenly shifted, and smashed his air hose so he couldn't get to it and relieve the crush on it.Ask him....Or at 300 ft.Or 150.How about a nice big snag on a sharp corner...tearing his suit nicely?Ask him what'll happen if he 'forgets' while he's welding and gets between the arc and the ground.

Redstone is a VERY large depot. During the 90s there were over 10,000 army civilians and contractors there.
