Pinstriping
08/22/13 11:08 PM

I came across an old stash of double pinstripe tape today and started playing with it on the bike. Now I am seriously considering pulling out my old Mack brush and doing some work. This bike has some crazy nice flowing lines I never noticed before! First I'm gonna keep playing with the tape to see what lines I want to use while taking pictures to guide me and free hand some old school pinstriping. Not sure what colors I should use yet, but I am confident yellow is not the right color. Was thinking maybe green, purple, gray, and/or pink.

The colors that contrast green are
1yellow
2cobalt grey
3 black

These colours compliment green
With you bike in mind IE the black metallic, I'd stay with yellow dude, it will compliment the green. Or you could look to match the green pin stripped lines

I like!

Tape and vinyl are great for trying stuff out. It actually is so durable, it's worthwhile to keep on he bike for more than just trying out stuff.

The ironic thing is that vinyl and tape are more time consuming to apply than paint. Paint's the way to go when you are sure you have what you want and you know youdon't want to change it for several yaers.

....of course, if one lacks the hand skills involved in striping, he's better off tryinh tape.. Vinyl is not the easiest thing to put on a motorcycle either...just a lot easier to get rid of if you find in the process you just can't do it.
