14R Hard Bags/Exhaust Question
10/26/12 8:59 PM

I know you can fit up the previous generation's SW Motech racks & Givi bags by dropping the stock exhaust slightly and fabbing up some brackets.

Has anyone head the chance to test the bags with an aftermarket exhaust, like Brock's Alienhead, to see if the shorter can clears the bags without any issues?

Doesn't seem like SW Motech has any intention of making racks compatible with a stock 14R.

I had to drop my Scorpion slip-ons about 1 1/8" to clear the V35s with the SWM mounts. One of the plastic muffler hoops broke (my fault, not Scorpion's) so I ordered some stainless ones from Muzzys. I told the guy what I had and he included some new stainless drop brackets to replace the painted steel ones I made myself. Now that's 1st-class customer service.

The Givi cases and SW Motech brachets will fit with a full yoshi stainless single sided system.

Yoshi TRC i think it was. Sorry do not have a photo with bags but the SW Motech slimline racks and V35 bags fit and there is plenty of clearance.

Beautiful. Thanks!

It looks like it fits because the can is effectively in a lower position because the can doesn't flare out. Am I seeing that right?

Hit the nail on the head. The Yoshi is about the size of the smaler end of the standard mufflers.

Now I wonder if I have more options than I originally thought. I bet a lot of aftermarket cans clear the bags.

How long does it take to remove and or re-instal the rack/mounting system?

I can have my racks and bags on in less than 60 seconds, then add a few more to plug in my LED connectors for the bag lights.
