Was wondering who has tried the Puig or Hotbodies DoubleBubble windscreen? I was thinking about geting one in dark smoke and was wonderig about fit and performance, wind protection, buffeting, aerodynamics etc.

hey kruz, i've got the puig db and the fit is perfect. the performance and aerodynamics are reduced from what drag racers claim. to me i could care less if it makes the bike .10 slower. as far as wind protection, your head will probably get pelted with wind since you're a taller guy. the wind off the stock screen is probably hitting your chest where as the wind off the db will hit you in the face. if you're tucked in, on the other hand, you'll have a little extra protection from the wind. simon, (bigtallguy on the other forums) sold his puig because it made the wind hit him in the face. that's about as accurate as i can get for ya buddy.

I don't have a hotbodies screen, but I do have their undertail and the fit sucks. Needed to be trimmed to get it right. I have read a lot of complaints about their stuff. I would not give them my $$$ again.

+1 on Hotbodies fit, I've heard complaints also. I may keep the stock screen on my 14. From what you guys are saying it would hit my face not my chest and the chest pressure is what keeps my weight off my wrists at Kruz. I'm glad I asked.
thanks!

What IS that "triple bubble"screen anyway! As for me-I'm 6'1"-my puig DB fits good, the wind hits me right at chest level-but I sit more upright with the lsl kit.My helmet isn't being blasted at all.For high speed,I tuck in-nice and calm at tank height.Fit was perfect.I've also got a Zero Grav ST screen-4" taller than stock.Nice screen-useful for cruising-blocks a lot of wind yep.It will however cause a slight difference in handling at speed.Just minor turn-in and such, but nothing to worry about-she's still stable as a rock!(had mine all the way to 186-it vibrated some, but the bike was stable).

HotBodies fitment sucks. I had a windscreen from them and the holes for the screws didn't line up at all, not even close. So I sent it back, they sent me another one and this time I got it on the bike but it was all crooked because the screw holes were all weird again.
I sent it back asked for a refund and after telling them I wasn't going to try a 3rd windscreen, they refunded my money. I took that money and got a Puig. Fitment was perfect.
All this to say, Hotbodies sucks in my opinion. In their defense, my friend for a windscreen from them and the fit was really nice. I would still never buy anything from them again.

I've heard enough to keep me away from Hotbodies. Puig, I've heard nothing but good things about!

Well, I was just checking the same thing out on fireblades.org, thought I'd order one for the 14 and one for the CBR but they're saying the same thing over there. If you ride with your head down they say you'll like the double bubble on the CBR but just cruisin is less comfortable because the airflow is directed off your chest and into your helmet. I think I'll leave well enough alone on both bikes.

The real issue with the Hotbodies screen is that
is the best looking one for the 14 IMHO.
The fit was just ungodly bad- nothing lined up right.I think my Hotbodies screen is 1" taller than the oem,
look into that as well- I really didn't want a tall double
bubble.
Well Mass I gotta agree with you.
The Hotbodies is sharp!!!
I foresee some Dremel work in my future.

I have the hotbodies windscreen on my 08 and it looks great and fits perfect. There undertails suck in fitment but never had a problem with their screen.

Did you guys get the dark smoke version? I'm tempted, that does look way cool but the one in the picture looks like it has a slight blue tint, could be an optical illusion.

Dogo, I sure hope you have better luck than Mass

I hope so too. Or better luck than I had with their undertail for that matter! I'm already expecting to spend some time getting it to fit. We'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed it's nothing a little dremeling can't cure.
I went with the regular smoke. That's the tint I have on my Zero Gravity S/T and I like it. The look of my S/T has just never grew on me eventhough the wind protection is awesome.

Dogo, that ZG ST is just way too tall. I know that it will do great job on long tours, but you have to live with the disproportional looks of it.
Yeah, I've lived with it because of the wind protection.
I'll keep it around for the winter.
I'd been torn between replacing it with a standard or DB.
The HotBodies looks like a happy medium.
I just hope I can get it to fit ok.

ZG DB here. Awwwwwww...is that only a face a proud father loves? LOL. She sure is purdy.
No buffeting but a little more wind noise (over OEM), but no biggie because I either have ear plugs/MP3s. I also like the looks of the ZG over the Puig. The subtle ZG DB lines that run almost parallel with the ram-air look great too. Perfect fit.

So far, it's the Hotbodies DB for me, closest to stock height and that smoke looks way sharp!Dogo that ST looks it came off an International Freightliner or maybe a RoadKing! I like protection but the bike has to look good too!

What IS that "triple bubble"screen anyway!
It's something I made to accomadate some guages... and this height just made it with no room to spare. Taller than I wanted, but I discovered I could not heat deform the shield to lower the relief, very well.
I'm 5'7" and with the OEM double bubble the wind hit right at my neck. Now its right at the bottom of my helmet.
I'd like to find a way to deform (flatten some) the portion from the top of the guages and up, to make it level out and lower the wind striking point and the wind screen profile.
A Pugh lower and then a Pugh double on top of it, so a triple bubble:
