This thing should have a type rating

Just picked up my 06 Black Zx14. Anyone with a private pilots license knows that you have to have a "type rating" in order to pilot an aircraft that is considered to be difficult to fly, complicated or high performance. While the ZX14 is not hard to ride, it is most certainitly HIGH PERFORMANCE. It needs a warning sticker "This bike will make you do STUPID things". Like,(true story) within the first 24 hours of owning the bike you are likely to get into a race with a new Corvette up a mountain road at speeds that will get you one of those orange jump suits you see those men wearing who are picking up trash on the side of the road. Of the 40 some odd bikes I have owned in my 54 years on this planet this is the first bike I can honestly say might have too much power,(at least for now) and I haven't done any mods to it yet!

To answer the first question, YES, I am thrilled with the build quality, the ride and the smoothness of the motor. Kawasaki did a very nice job on this bike. Hard to believe they sell it for about 12K.
Question #2. Yes also, I did pass and gap the Corvette, and this was not his first rodeo either. What blew me away was that I never used even 75% of the available power.
Now for the disclaimer, and as a retired cop I have to say this. If you are going to do this type of "temperary insanity" remember, if things go horribly wrong they could change your life forever, and not in a good way. Riding a high performance bike like this is like carring a loaded gun, respect it, and know what's down range before you pull the trigger.

I picked up the same black 06 ZX14 on Satuarday and I love it! It is definitely a power house but awesome to ride. It does run a little warm but other than that no complaints so far.

It does run a little warm

You might try "Engine Ice" in the radiator, although it should cool down a bit when you get a few more miles on it. -bg

I live in Tucson, everything runs a little warm here. Correction, everything runs freaking hot here.
