Pit Bull Trailer Restraint in a U-Haul MC Trailer

It works. I also used a set of Canyon Dancer straps pulled straight out to the sides. This will also fit the 14 since the wheel chock will slide back a quarter inch no problem.

I'll post a tutorial on how I built this in the near future.

Meanwhile, the poor ZX-14 sits back in my hometown waiting fro me to finish up the electronics project I've been working on. Close to getting it done and the 14 will ride again!!!

BTW--I'm kind of apprehensive about showing off the bikes here in Winter. Gotta keep it sorta low key and not go out of my way to be seen. The busa is here though and we had a good ride. Been a long time. Chicken strips down to an inch.

I missed the point somewhere on this?

Why all the extra work building a platform?

This is just so you can use the pitbull restraint?

Why not just use a strap for the rear tire and leave the pitbull
stuff at home?

I've used these neat little U-Haul MC trailers quite a bit. roll on
couple straps and down the road. Very nice trailers.

Just remember, it weighs about 250 lbs. I've already thought about how it might be made smaller. Just make the platform support the rear wheel and trailer restraint. The front doesn't need a platform. Keep the 4 foot x 8 foot 2x4 frame to pull against the front wall of the trailer. I think the one I made is safer but that trimmed down version would be a lot lighter.

OR ---just buy a used trailer for about $400. Drill holes and attach the trailer restraint.

It was a huge amount of work but yes, it was just so I would be able to use the trailer restraint with the U-Haul trailer. I don't like the idea of compressing the suspension and that's the only way I would haul a bike without a trailer restraint. I also would rather not have straps touching anything even wheels.

I did hit one deep hole turing at an intersection and I was only going about 5 mph but I saw the the suspension rebound up in the rearview mirror (as I winced). I wouldn't trust anything less than what I have done unless it was a trailer bed with holes for the trailer restraint.

Yeah, Piken the U-Haul trailer is super easy to use. It was no problem getting my busa in there at all and I was able to do it all by myself. No clearance problem at all and that busa has a bit less space under it than the 14.
