I need some help real quick. can any one tell me the real diffreance between the akrapovic full race system and the full evolution system. other than the evo is more money. This is kind of a general question cause the system will not be for a 14 but rather a new 08 cbr which i am buying for a second bike. The 14 wil never have another pipe other than the alien head. but alas Brock doesn't make a pipe for the honda so I am torn and looking at the akro. thanks guys

I beleive the difference is the racing is titanium headers and evolution is stainless steel.

Hoopie, you are correct about the difference between the two systems, but you have it backwards; the Evo system is titanium and the race is not, I have the bill to prove it. :-) Last time I checked, the Evo system is still over 2K for the ZX-14. I got my Akro race system from 58Cycle for just under $1100.00. I would have gotten the Evo, but I couldn't see spending the extra money for the weight saving for the titanium when I also wanted Ivan's TRE and PC. Thanks, I had it backwards! The expensive one is the titanium one, thats all I know! :) I know I paid 1600 for my graves full exhaust in titanium.

i like the akra pipes. i've got one on my 636 and like it a lot. how's the sound? is it relatively loud or quiet for a full system?

As near as I can tell, the Akras have a deeper note at idle but not much if any louder. Running at highway speeds in 5th or 6th you can feel and hear more bottom. and with the revs near 10,000 there's a HUGE growl! I love this pipe so far. If ANYbody's wondering if they should get a pipe, PC and TRE for the '06 or '07 ZX-14 WONDER NO MORE. Everyting you've read or heard about power / torque and rideability are all true.I thought I wouldn't like having a single pipe (I think it kinda looks funny), now it's like "Who Cares?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hey Romans, do you run the baffle in or out and if out, how do you like it?

Funny you should ask . I was wondering if it was any quieter with it in ? I have never had it in .This pipe is not LOUD by any means . My slip ons were a tiny bit louder(TONE) down low and the povic a tiny bit louder up top . I know this does not help much but if it breaths better with it out .......Out it goes . It is so easy to take in and out that I was going to put in my pocket and give it a try, but then snow ....

Romans, there's a HUGE difference in the sound. Baffles in, the sound is subdued deep and quite throaty; doesn't really get loud until you're rolling over 8 or 9K. Baffle out it just sounds angry all the time. Nice and deep with a growl on top! I'll be rolling baffle out until the storm trooper police start writing tickets. Haven't taken her on the road yet due to the rain.

I got out yeaterday .....Yaaaaaa (first spring ride, scary,LOVE it ). I looked for the baffle the other day(I think just because we were talking about it ) and I can not find it . I am now so use to the baffel out that I can not see me liking it in I still think this is a great option to have tho. I am sure it will turn up. My buddy just picked up a black 2007 zx-14 . The bike came with the M-10 mega phone . Believe me Ours is quiet compared to that,real Quiet. There will be no stealth riding with this guy . I must admit ,it sounds great(for about 2 miles) above 10,000 . The funny part was that after his very FIRST ride he was asking how much for the povic ? I on the other had no intrest in the Bust Me pipe .I know if I had one of those pipes my bike the police would have it in the pound .Please do not misunderstand ,if we did not have that new racing law here in Ontario I would have that Alien Head on my bike right now.

DUDE! Total draconian attitude! I just read a couple of news articles about this "sweeping" legislation in Ontario. I can't believe what I read. And you have no appeals recourse? You just lose your ride and your license for 7 days and a MANDATORY $2000.00 fine on top for a FIRST offense? Seriously, no offense to your local gov. but are they seriously trying to cut down on traffic deaths or are they that hard up for cash?
