My Brock's Performance CT-DUAL full exhaust lets me put Givi PLX side cases on, with just enough clearance (more would be a waste). I used the SW-MOTECH removable side case racks because they let me use a top case too. The Give PLX rack prevents you from using a top case unless you want to fabricate (i.e., cut, bend, shape, weld, powdercoat, etc.)

And I have a centerstand on (OEM) and it clears the CT-DUAL back pipe just fine. Of course, Brock's made sure of these things before they committed the CT series to production.

What I did to make sure the CT-DUALs would permit me to put PLX cases on was go to brock's site, and get a side view of a ZX14 with CT-DUALS on it, and measure a straight line from the top of the muffler back, parallel to the top of the muffler. Then I compared it to a picture of a ZX14 with the PLX cases on it.

LOL, maybe someone will answer who used a slip-ons with the PLX racks / side cases.

I wish I could have put the full size rack on, and used bigger side cases, but the amount of fabrication I'd have had to do to clear the CT-DUAL mufflers was just too much to bother with. But you can never have enough luggage space. I also wish I had gotten the E55 top case instead of the E52, but what the heck... right ?

Hope somebody that used slip-ons with them sees this. Consider this a bump.

Privateer - I don't mean to threadjack, but I am seriously considering the E41 sidecases and the E55 top case for my 14. I am concerned the cases may be to large and wide for the bike. I would really appreciate some photos of your set up and your opinion on the larger cases.

Here is my 14 with stock pipes and plx V35 side cases. It has a FAT ASS with this set up and I wouldn't want bigger bags than this. I found I had a ton of room even on a 10 day trip. I use the extra bag just for my riding gear.

Rock14 shows it with his stock mufflers. You probably could go full size SW-MOTECH rack and full size side cases with stock exhaust mufflers. But you better ask Twisted Throttle tech support, if anyone knows they would.

With my CT-DUAL mufflers, the tip clears the bottom of the PLX case at the forward hinge by about 1/4" which is enough not to cause any heat problems, but bigger rack / cases would never fit.

Heck I doubt Beetle Bags (Corbin "no returns allowed, no customer service") would fit on mine, either.

But like Rock14 says, with the PLX side cases and the E52 top case, I have tons of room. Add my big RKA seat bag and tank bag, and I can be gone for weeks no problem.

Privateer, I can not thank you enough for this post.
I recently bought a clean '06 to do exactly what you have done, you have
provided exactly the info I so badly needed.
Just got a LSL Spiegler handlebar kit.
bags and pipes next.
You also gave me the skinny on which hardware to buy to allow for a trunk.
Hows the sound with the Brocks?
P.S. flies in or out?
If you're ever in Reno, Nv.dinner is on me.

Dont have a centerstand so I cant speak to that.
I just picked up the bike with polished leo vince short cans which cleared the sw motech rack and plx cases easily.
I then replaced those with leo vince sbk carbon ovals which just barely clear by mounting the hangars in the lowest positions possible.
Not sure if that might help anyone...

Had a small clearance problem with the V35s and my Scorpion slip-ons, so I made some drop brackets to lower the mufflers slightly. When I ordered some stainless hanger loops from Muzzys to replace the cheapo plastic ones the Scorpions came with, I mentioned the brackets to the guy at Muzzys. When the loops came in the mail, Muzzys included a pair of stainless drop brackets to replace the plain painted steel ones I had made.

If anyone's interested, they can use my originals as a pattern to make some drop brackets.
