This company is trying to make a helmet with a heads up display, like a fighter jet ! it will have a navigation system and many more things, if you get in early, its $1,500, now that seems like a lot, but a schuberth SR1 is around $900, and this helmet is carbon fiber, so it is pretty light for having all the electronics etc ..

Only thing is its a start up company in Russia, so I am VERY leary, but it looks very cool !

I don't think I'd want those 'displays' showing up in front and all...could be somewhat distracting trying to watch the road and decipher those symbols and all......but the concept is very cool.Voice activated would be nice for sure.Rear view would be nice.

I agree with Grn, I love the concept but they would have to be really careful in how they implement it. I don't know how much I'd want going on in front of my face. Just my penny and a half! Sick

I think they are trying to make so you look "through" it, like a fighter jet, I have never had then pleasure to be in a fighter jet, but I hear it doesnt impede your vision, maybe Suedez could ring in on this and tell us what the heads up vision is like ?

I flew over 4000 hours in 3 different jets with HUDs - the A-10, F-16 and T-38C. The HUDs weren't distracting at all - it's very easy to "look through" the projected info so long as the brightness level is adjusted correctly. The primary use was to aim weapons while monitoring flight parameters.

Having your speed projected so you don't have to look down would be nice. You could also incorporate navigation data like turn-by-turn navigation arrows if you integrated the HUD with GPS.

However, riding at my level, I don't see a big need on a bike. My initial reaction is that although this would be fairly "cool and wow," great caution would be required to prevent channelized attention on the HUD information from detracting your focus from upcoming road surface conditions/traction available and the cars/deer etc. trying to kill you. It would suck to crash out in a corner because you didn't see the gravel while distracted by meaningless bling info in your face.
