Wheel Bearing question
03/12/11 4:40 PM

Hey guys, now that i got the bike running well i took it out for a ride and i hear i loud grinding noise from the rear wheel. Looks like the outer bearing got torn apart. I believe it is because there was no snap ring. These are some pictures. Where can i order this bearing? I don't know if anything else is missing, looking for some guidance.

Thanks
Tomas

Well i have looked at a diagram and its seem to be a snap ring missing and another part. This is the sprocket side of the motorcycle. I am talking about the diagram from the owners manual.

thanks

I bought the bike used so its up to me to fix it now. The problem that i have now is what parts are missing. This way i know what to order when i go to the dealership on monday. The main bearing in there in good condition but what else is supposed to be there besides the picture i have with the parts out?

Thanks
Tomas

May as well get the collar also...yes?

So HUbster...you think that bearing failure is from overtightening?

Thanks guys. Just replaced the outer bearing, outer/inner spacer and the snap ring. The rest of the assembly looked and felt good. The bike is now fixed and enjoying the cold weather in Massachusetts.
