How many BTUs in a gallon of 87, 89 and 91 gasoline
07/24/09 11:39 AM

Attempting to solve a debate at work.

Does anybody know how many BTUs in a gallon of 87, 89 and 91 gasoline?

I believe that the lower the octane the higher the BTUs but I can not confirm the numbers.

Thanks

I am not sure, but what I understand is that an average pound of gas burns a preset of 17,500 BTU'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. No matter how you work the number'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's, the formula says the heat stops here.

So, 17,500BTU sea that flame is more you take the octane and now control the burn of 17,500 Bee Tea U'skis, I skis; for Ice Scream it's fuk king hot in ear!
