Nope. I work for Goodyear and this was a release on their new stuff. I like that you can pick your compound......

Dunlop is delighted to announce that its D212 GP Pro has been named ‘Tire of the Year’ in the 2013 Fast Bikes Awards. The supersports tire which was launched this year, received the accolade in the magazine’s round up of 2013’s leading motorcycles, accessories and events. Answering to the needs of race professionals and track day riders, the D212 GP Pro has been designed to deliver the speed, reliable grip and solid performances that only professional racing tires can provide. In reflection of this, Fast Bikes described the tire as “unbelievable” and cited the D212 GP Pro’s side grip and stability as key reasons for the win.

The award recognized Michael Dunlop’s two victories in one day of the Isle of Man TT and his class lap record of 131.220 mph on Dunlop D212 GP Pro tires, faster than he achieved on a slick-shod superbike. The road legal tires took to the track in the Supersport and Superstock classes and continued Dunlop tires' winning streak, winning both races and taking five out of the six podium places available.

"The entire team at Dunlop is extremely pleased with this recognition from Fast Bikes, which concludes a really successful year for Dunlop, not just in motorsport, but in strengthening our product portfolio with the introduction of the D212 GP Pro and the SportSmart2," said Andy Marfleet, Dunlop’s brand manager.

"The technology and development behind Dunlop’s success in motorsport all over the world is cascaded directly into our road going products, with recent examples being Jointless Tread and Mutli Tread Compound technology. Riders including John McGuinness and Michael Dunlop push their Dunlop shod bikes to the limit in road racing. This confidence in our products, combined with the accolade from Fast Bikes is a real testament to the research and development that goes in to each and every one of our motorcycle tires."

Got an E-mail promo from Comp Acc the other day taking pre-orders for PR IVs. Supposedly 15% longer life and same wet westher performance as the IIIs. Most of these "GT"-spec tires are slightloy heavier and have stiffer sidewalls to cope with the weight of bigger machines.

'07 CPB Blue; ZGST windscreen with MRA X-screen adjustable spoiler, tube bar adaptor, PC III, ATRE,BMC air filter, modified stock seat with 2nd Look cover,Scorpion Flame Ti slip-ons, Galfer rotors front and rear, braided-stainless lines, C-F 10R front fender, C-F hugger, C-F inner fairing panels, painted foreman's fins with faux C-F inlay, polished rim lips wired for heated gear and accessories, Givi V35 side bags and E41 topcase with SW-Motech qd mounts
