Mav, after reading all your comments it's starting to seem to me that you actually have something against the H2.
Perhaps for some reason you are concerned about it's potential?
Or maybe you are so attached to your 14 and all the work that has gone into it that you are worried about possible change, and defend it come hell or high water.
I see no quarter given by you.
I have not once heard you say "well maybe in this aspect of performance it is very close"...
Grn has a huge advantage.

He has ridden both bikes.
He has a reference.

You don't.
That stands whether you are more experienced or skilled or not.
He is also not a Johnny come lately but a guy who has ridden all versions of 14's since they came out. He has a very good idea what they are all about.
He is now saying the H2 is amazing and to him better.
He is now selling his precious 14 for the H2 for goodness sake. That is just about as good a proof as anyone could ask for.

Now im not saying youre wrong, but wont you at least grant that until you "pilot an H2", your opinions cannot be 100% confirmed and correct due to how close the performance of these two bikes actually are?

I have two objections to H2. The street vers should put out more HP and second the supercharged motor, choose the 1441 next time please.

Yannih, my only qualm is with the statements that claim the H2 is quicker in a straight line. Grn and I are in agreement that the H2 wasn't designed to go toe to toe with the 14R in the drag scene. It's a different animal with a different purpose. Can the H2 do some things that the 14R can't? Maybe so. Can it outperform the 14R in the straights? Hell no.

Hard data is scarce at this point but from what I've seen posted the H2, compared to the 1441 engine, pays a penalty in rotational force but eclipses in work performed over unit time. The only other obvious advantage is a lesser curb mass.

I've no data regarding how the "puppy ring" transmission relates to smaller ETs or larger top speeds.

Seb has the hard data. The verdict is in. H2 makes much less torque.... Everywhere....

Love that vid there...very well put together and informative.

"wasn't designed to go toe to toe with the 14R in the drag scene"..well,I said it wasn't specifically BUILT to do that. That doesn't mean it can't.

Things are now getting stirred up....AWAKE my brothers.... flame on!

It most definitely does mean that it CAN'T and WON'T. The 14R crushes the H2 on the strip. PERIOD. Flame on.

Silly discussion. Either drag them ... or wait until others do.

^C rode it. He liked it. Not to speak on his behalf but perhaps his impressions next to the 14r might be insightful? Another layer to the "puZzle!?"

C - thoughts?

You guys are getting the wrong impression. I don't hate the H2. I even said earlier that "IF" it was a quicker platform I would jump ship in a heart beat. My loyalty lies with brutal acceleration.

We probably won't see an H2 down here for awhile, and I seriously doubt the guy would let me throw a leg over it and beat her guts.

Has there been any published strip numbers yet on H2? I've said all along I think the H2 will be slightly faster than 14R. But my speculation could be wrong. The numbers are the measure not speculations or butt dynos.

With that said, if it turns out H2 is slower, then the H2 guys will just have to accept it. Just as I've accepted (and expect) the H2 to be faster. Probably be close enough will come down to rider weight & skill anyway.

To me it'll be a bit of an embarrassment though if H2 isn't faster. At that point exactly what is it supposed to do better? It cost significantly more, has been hyped to the point of "gone to plaid", and frankly it's getting boring waiting to see some actual test that actually provide some numbers.

Hint #1: So Grn, how's the new bike? "Different."
Hint #2: Oh shit, he didn't say 'faster than...'
Hint #3: What was the hype again? 'Fastest accelerating bike.'
Hint #4 200+ HP but somewhere under 100lbs torque means fastest short fuse going.

I would love to have an H2 and was initially considering getting one

but my main question is why reduce the output of the track Version by -one hundred horsepower-?

they have now hindered the track version so much and the resulting street version is parallel with the new R1 and the reigning king, the BMW. Also, at 525 (?) it is a quite a bit heavier than the two aforementioned bikes

I don't understand the reasoning behind reducing the track versions output by -that much-. Numbers help sell bikes cause many of the target market are superficial and love bragging rights as much as real world usability. Imo, at least

Vic your not going to see any H2 strip numbers. Why do you think Rickey went through all the trouble to set up a bike that is impossible to replicate? He knew that the H2 didn't have the power and torque to surpass the 14R. If Rickey knows it, then everyone else should accept it as well.

Well that sucks. I'd really like to see some numbers. Anything can look fast on a track in a video, I probably even could!

Ok, then let me ask you this. Given the premium upgrades on suspension and brakes, is there a chance in hell H2 is faster around road circuits than say a 10R? How about vs. 14R on the same tracks*?

* It might be a little unfair to compare stock to stock on a road course. 14R has dual exhuast which of course adds a significant amount of weight, as well as holds over 1 gallon more fuel).

The H2 better damn well be quicker on a road course. It would be beyond embarrassing if it wasn't.

"I don't understand the reasoning behind reducing the track versions output by -that much-. Imo, at least"...they didn't want guys to get killed...plain and simple. This bike WILL get you killed if ya don't stay focused on what yer doin.Honestly.Totally.Remember the original H1.LOTS of guys got killed riding that bike...I know of one in particular. This bike bike is very similar. It has two stroke response, yet 4 stroke rideability.

After seeing this time based dyno comparison between a customers H2 vs. C's beloved Priscilla I'd say 14R owners with exhaust and tune have little to worry about in an acceleration contest. Not to mention the H2 is banging off the limiter in 6th at 175mph. H2 at 160 and 14R at 185 in the same time frame
