I am trying to find the PPG paint code or formula for 'Golden Blazed Green' as used on the 2012/2013 models.

Can anybody help!!

I think someone told me sherwin-Williams owns Color-Rite (or Color Rape, as my friend likes to call them) You may be able to get factory-matched paint through a SW retailer, but I don't know if it wouldn't have to be mixed at C-R anyway since most SW stores seem to be house paint retailers rather than automotive. PPG cannot do exact matches for Kawasaki paint unless it's a non-candy color. If you take a painted part to one of their stores, you can compare it to their samples.

Thanks guy's I have been in contact with Color-Rite and sure they have the color, but they wont ship to Australia.
BASE...1811 Kawasaki 3811 40R...Golden Blazed Green are there own numbers and are not recognised in the PPG system.
My son is a spray painter by trade, we have compared to all PPG samples & nothing thats close at all.
We have also spent a full day & a half trying to color match it, no good either. :(

I have had the same problem trying to match the Golden Blaze Green. I have some chips on the tank from a low life who must have pushed a shopping trolly into my bike while i was shopping.
I have been in contact with a number of paint repair guys who have tried to match the colour without luck.
If you find out the colour code or manage to match the paint can you please let me know, i would be very greatful for some help.
The only option offered by my Kawasaki dealer was to buy a new tank as their paint repair guys couldn't match the paint either. $$$$$
It's rubbish you can't buy the paint from Kawasaki.

No I haven't found it yet, still working on it.
But I have found a UK company who will ship to Aus in small amounts.

RS Bike Paint Ltd.
Its not on their web site but if you email them, they are very helpfull.

@martin61 Could you clarify small amounts? I have the green fins on black '13 model too, that requires a few small touchups (from new, didn't see the scratches at the dealership until I got home )

They can only ship 25ml touch up bottles.

I ordered:
1 x 25ml green
1 x 25ml base coat
+ shipping to Aus
Total was $42.35 Aud

You will also need the clear lacquer, I did not order it beacause I have some here.

Same thing happened to me ! small pencil lead size chip on my tank, I KNOW I didnt do it, but I cant prove they did, pisses me off, these guys need to be careful ! took it in for some warranty work, and see a big black mark on my rear seat panel ! lucky for them, it rubbed off !

Anyway, going to my favorite body shop and see if they can mix me up some touch up paint, will let you k ow if it actually matches

1 x 25ml base coat
+ shipping to Finland
Total was 51.60 Eur (=67 USD)

I think the prices are reasonable. For the budding painters in here, I'm assuming that a small dab of base - dry, small dab of colour - dry and a dab of clear to finish up? Hoping I don't have to sand anything :)

Hi mate just wondering if you have tried your paint yet?
If so how did it turn out?

Mine arrived today so I will be trying it in the next couple of days.

Martin, just fixed couple of small "stone hits" and it was ok.
Cannot say how it works on the large scale, haven't tried that one yet.

Today got RHS fins repainted & this paint worked a treat, very happy with the end result :)

Not sure about your experiences but here's mine.

Candy Plasma Blue consists of
1. Base coat (grey colour)
2. Candy Plasma Blue colour coat (which is quite transparent and sparkly)
3. Clear coat

I have had 0% success with touching up small chips and scratches due to the 3 stage process.
You put too much base coat, problem.
You put too much colour coat, problem.

Perhaps its just me...
