New owner in Cali
06/07/09 12:32 PM

Hi all....new owner of an 08 zx. Bought off of ebay brand new with 1 mile on it from Cherry Hills N.J. Still waiting for the bike to ship. I got a good deal...I think....bought it for 8375.00 plus 500.00 destination fees and 98.00 other fee....total of 8975.00. Still have to pay sales tax and pay shipping....so that bumps up the final tally to about 10.4 out the door. I used to ride alot....had a 81 gpz 550 for 20 years and dirt bikes. I looked at the Concours, but seemed to much like a Goldwing for my taste. After reading about the zx on forums and reviews, it looks like the bike for me! I'm picking up the bike in Salt Lake in a week or two and will take a road trip home to put some miles on the bike. Hope to meet some other zx riders in Cali sometime. I'm in Santa Clara if anyone else is in the area, maybe we can get together for a ride sometime and talk bikes.

Heated grips and Two Brothers Black slip on's.
Old ride: 2008 zx-14 (sold)
Current ride: 2013 zx-14r abs/traction control
Current ride: zrx1200r Eddie Lawson edition

you might have a problem with registration with the cal- dmv as there are only a few ways you can reg a new bike that has less than 7500 miles on it 1 you lived in another state and he bike was reg. there in your name. 2 you wrecked your bike out of state and you replaced it wih the new one. 3 the bike says on the fed sticker that it complies with cali smog reguations. 4 you just moved here from another state. I just went through this shyt with them and it took 3 months t work it out for me i was lucky that the other owner just moved here and had him reg it ...but it only had 1200 miles on it so they told me they(dmv) would do me a favor and let bring the bike back when it had 7500 plus miles on the odd. so i had to weight for something majical to happen got lucky. (don't want to say what i did but you can guess) well hope this is just talk and you dont have to worry about it maybe if its 2008 ,2009 with the new regulatation on smog it may just be cali legal good luck man

You better write to Arnold. That smog is social science and a myth. YOu drive more than you ride. Your cc against Cubic inches = Cut me a brake and pull my finger is break out the wallet is a scam and tell Arnold he is clueless is run the state.

I can run this shit out my ass is nature cut the cheeze? Did you ever cut yourself? Did you heal? Does nature know how to heal itself as if you are dying of the air you breath? It cleans itself is not on some union time clock resting on a broom handle is junk science on the floor and you are getting sucked into a slot machine the bike company already has the sniff covered.

You with the legal emissions are not even going to sneeze as if they can control the ocean currents and wind is the clean up of this shit inn the sea is the shit from the dyno sore is your ass hole being one.

WRITE TO ARNY the ASSHOLE suck change that he is!

Thanks for the welcome....bike is registered in WA....two home locale's....no worries about Arnies army or other gov bs requirements. I pick up the bike in SLC Utah....I will drink some beer to infuriate the local masses of pious Brothers and Sisters (I lived in Utah before) and then I will depart the state and head immediately to Nevada and cleanse my soul in a casino at the state line...viva la semi-Vegas baby!
