Fuel Filter

Member 1400 had this post in the QA section.

quote]Hi all from down under this info is for all zx12r owners that have had fuel pressure problems in there bikes and this goes for zx14 owners and a lot of other brand bikes as well! if you remove the fuel pump you will find a small filter at the inlet of the pump and everyone will tell you that this is the first and only filter in the system {WRONG] there is one other filter hidden in the pump case, this is the {real filter} and it takes a small contamination to block it, and the sad part of it is that the average person will be told by the shop to fix your problem {by a new pump at $1000 Ausi dollars}. I had this problem on my 06 zx12r and my fix was to cut the top off the filter housing and remove the shit filter, close the housing and fit an automotive filter to the bike externaly and bingo you have your bike back, and {now}you can change the filter when you need to! some cars have the same intenal filtering system + zx14s +fjr1300+R1 arrrrr modern motorcycles dont you just love em!!!. Mr Kawasaki must make a shit load from this little problem but he got no money from me!!!! [/quote]
