Spongy Brake Lever.
09/12/12 4:20 PM

I bleed my front brakes on my 2006 the way I had done the with several other bikes I've owned before. I was able to get lever real nice hard the way it should be. However, when I started the bike up, the lever became spongy again. It was like I had never bleed them at all. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be going on? Thanks.

Did you also bleed the master cylinder? There is a bleeder there. also.

Yep. I started there, then right and left caliper. The air seemed to be moving out pretty good too. But obviously there's still some there.

My method is to attach a hose to each bleeder, pump the lever three times and hold and open and close the bleeder before releasing the lever. I also have an aftermarket braided-stainless line system. Just keep repeating the process until all the air is gone.
