HMF Shogun?
12/06/10 8:49 PM

I looked around the forum, searched, and couldn't fund much about the HMF stuff. Forgive me if i missed something talked about to death. I've had the Big Ninja for a little while now, and the stock exhaust is killing me. My last bike had a sato exhaust, and sounded great. I miss that. I know the Shogun has a large diameter, but i have the appropriate map from HMF, and a cc change is in the plans later.

I'm wondering if any one here has HMF, has used/been around their exhaust, or just has any info. My friend has one on his Nitrous-Busa, and he seems ot like it, but i'd like more info if i can find it. Thank you for any info you may be able to provide, Paul.

I sold the R1 to buy the Zx-14, i don't regret it. I do miss my liter bike though.

Here is your problem. YOu have none! WOT are you waiting for as if you need a fuel trigger kind of piggy for a muffler [still] attached. Do you see, you are still choking down the exhaust? Yes, if you want, you could keep going with a piggy trigger for the accel mode. Make sure they have that option.

You don't need it. I'm just saying, you can make your own burger your way. Hold the pickle hold the lettuce. Add a condiment here, a mod there.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I'm not fluent in "Hub".

I know the Shogun has a large diameter, but i have the appropriate map from HMF

Map = Piggy.

If you have the appropriate map, it means you are on a continuous tuning mode. Yes, in other words, you do not need a map. It means to go for it without map. It means, or; You can add a map to it using said fuel trim device.

Larger diameter means no bottom end. Larger diameter means fill the hole so the exhaust expels faster with a bike wanting to move faster. No compromise meaning.

Stock pipe gives you all that clog bottom, plus, hold on to your armchairs; some pipes make less HP [if only] you left it alone.

I do believe i'm starting to catch your drift Mr. Hub. I'm planning to go to a 1451, w/ the potential for a nitrous bike. That's why i'm looking into such a large diameter pipe, 2.5". Do you believe the Shogun would be more appropriate under those circumstances?

I prefer the looks of the HMF, that's why i'm trying to get the info on it. I already know enough about Brocks to know that they make good products. I like their stuff a lot, but if i can find some good info about the Shogun, i'd like to go that route.

Jikky, You could take a mod and look at it two ways; Indeed, it's all about you, your tastes, your pipe idea. We select bike. We select color. We are street riders, yes? We are not out and out race, we have transport, sponsor, and as much HP on that trailer like come get some, meaning, I have my pipe, you have yours.

WOT [wide open throttle] it all boils down to is how much attitude do you bring to the bike. I'm a street rider. If I were to race [period] I would find top flight - R&D - My way, seeking HP in every direction. Do we want to start a race list vs. a street list? I rather not.

No matter the combination, you are in a 1bad mode. You are going to let others dictate or you are on your own, your choice in pipe, your choice in map. If you are not in the map that day, that temp, that air pressure day, you bring a borrowed map, you are all tied up in parts is parts? You call that a map? You call that a pipe?

Was this part the right choice? Is this the way to go? Do you get the gist of the, "Jikky Moves?" I have to keep repeating the same thing as if we are not on the same page you read it correctly the firstime. IF >> And I mean, we are not being all in some competition but for personal sport? Then, I would go with what YOU think is the right:

1. Sound.
2. Look.
3. Move, you keep adding the why 'thi$' i$/wa$ my choice and now I have to R&D = Live with that choice Ca/Ching!

Noted. See, You can look around and things will drive you to this brand or that brand. If you look around the 14 sites, you could pick out two pipes that would do no wrong if say we just had to have a bolt on kind of part. A pipe that had it all, say.

But then, add that 'LQQK' scenario, I would more go after that category. The thought is, do I make a mistake now, or do I commit to zip information, or say, unless someone comes forward, and looks like you are out of luck [<I could be wrong], the 1Atmo wins either way. Get it? Still looking...
