Flatshifter

Hi all,
Some of you may remember that I had a serious knee injury. Well I still can't bend my left knee enough to get my toe under the shifter. So I bought an electric shifter from Flatshifter in the UK. Uses an electric actuator and buttons on the handlebar. Installation was surprisingly easy. They didn't send me the actuator mount bracket but I bought one from Pingel and did some minor modifications.
I test rode it to Physical Therapy last Wednesday. The shifter works great. In fact I have to watch resting my thumb on the button. Found myself shifting down 3 years in rapid succession. It's great to be back on the bike after 7 months.

Nice setup. Let us know how it works under various load/rpm conditions. I think I was a little lazy on my foot shifter last week and it popped back into 2nd after hitting the rev limiter at about 80% throttle/9000~10,000 rpm. Surprise wheelie about 6 or eight inches I'd say.

Seems it may be something to look into myself. Glad yall are able to ride again. I myself am working on getting myself back up to speed after having my right knee replaced. Think its as good as its going to get at this point though. Just short of getting the ball of my foot on the peg. Doc says I am probably at the limits of the knee.

My button on the 14 sometimes gets an accidental nudge..Not always fun :)
Is it just for upshifting? Very nice looking set up.
Just took another look.. Looks like it shifts both ways ..if so that is a VERY nice setup :)

Yeah it shifts both ways. They also have the "Expert" which allows clutchless
shifting up and down.
