No Grn, Kruz was in you front yard but as seen in this time lapsed photo, he couldn't decide which leathers to wear so he left and went to the EAA AirVenture Convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin instead.
will be home in teJas later tonight as long as he makes his flight out of ChiTown. No stop in Milwaukee. Guess he didn't need a cigar and coffee this year. Sorry I couldn't make it to the Fox Cities this time Kruz....you know how high maintenance those wiminz iz. high performance/high maintenance.

My dad was a ball turret gunner on the B-17.He flew in the Europe theater.Only reason I know this is my mom told me.He never ever talked about it.My mom would tell me of his nightmares. No wonder he had 6 heart attacks.I never had the balls to ask him.But I did meet his flight crew when they came to visit him in the late seventies.Gave us a wall clock with his old bomber group.

Interestingly, the B-17 gunners are credited with shooting down more enemy aircraft than all of the U.S. fighter types combined in the air war over Europe. Apparently attacking a massed heavy bomber formation bristling with 50 caliber Browning machine guns was no easy task.
The Luftwaffe perfected diving frontal assaults on the weakly defended nose of the B-17 formations but the introduction of the B-17G model with it's twin nose turret guns negated that advantage.
One B-17 was at Oshkosh this year and one B-29 Super Fort, also Glacier Girl the restored P-38 recovered from the Greenland icecap was flown in.
I go to this show every year, it's part of my job so not as much fun. I rarely am able to get out of our tent due to customer traffic.
@Grn, no ABS on my ZX-10R.

I rode through Oshkosh yesterday on the 14. I-41 is a much better ride to Michigan than 43 which has a few very major delays from construction backups.
Forgot to bring my Fondue pots to Fon du Lac (where they have a serious lack of Fondue!)

I've worked with a lot of Germans and for the most part I get along with them very well. At the end of the day they're people just like us, some good, some bad, some funny as hell and some not so funny.
As far as tech, it's hard to beat the Germans at this game. When it comes to precision manufacturing and engineering they are top notch. They do have a tendency to make things overly complicated though, it's been said that a German engineer needs ten parts to build something that any idiot could do with two. This is what killed the Tiger Tank in WWII, they couldn't keep them running.
Just look at the BMW S1000RR, they hit one out of the ballpark on the first try and nobody has really caught up with them since.
One thing that bothers me is how come Americans can't build a decent sportbike. We certainly have the know how and manufacturing expertise but we get half baked crap like the Buell......$40,000 bike that "almost" competes with an $11,000 Jap bike. Makes me want to cry sometimes. MotoCysz was American and very high tech but they fizzled out, haven't heard anything on them in years after they gave up on the idea of an all American assault on MotoGP.
