Cooler weather equals more power and less traction
09/22/13 1:45 PM

Most of my riding lately has been in hot ninety degree weather but this morning got a ride in sixty degree temps. What a difference in power and traction. The bike was flat hauling ass !!! I was riding in F2 and the traction control kept interrupting my fun (or saving my butt) in second and third gear. Sure felt nice to feel the extra power and the cool air !!! Anybody else notice the power difference at cooler temps ???

Good to deflate the tires a little, and good to run traction control. Unfortunately I don't take my own advice and run 42/42 in FOFF!
Just dread slowing down.

I could just begin to see the sun give light this morning. The bike is warm, I'm about 2-3 miles out, I feel this smoothness. I feel this crispness. Wait a minute. Am I in F-Off for this kind of smoothing I know in off mode? Must be the weather. I can't believe how smooth F-1 was. I tapped the lever down to 3rd and cracked it open. Front end is coming up, the yellow light comes on. I'm waiting for the next wheel to loft in this gear now. Here comes the intervention light again.

I then settled back down knowing I better be a good boy. I then enjoyed the rest of the ride thinking this does not need a sync yet whatsoever. Sun, get out of my eyes!

I love to cruise with the bike running about 155-165 degrees. Cool as a cucumber

Wolf: I will try letting a little air out of the tires tomorrow.
Cblast: I have been to Bowser and remember that morning air.
Hub: I will ride in F1 tomorrow to test the smoothness.
Kofla: Yeah...if its sunny its a good ride.

Well my last run was on closed road(no rubber down just seal). Temp was 6 degree C and raining.
10.3 was the best I could manage with traction control off.
10.45 with it on. Traction on didn't help a lot as it kept kicking in and out for 300metres.

Found the low rev start and let it wheelie was the best way to create traction.

Try the deflate but if you do not like, re inflate. Over the winter when she goes to storage for the long sleep I inflate her with Nitrogen. Keeps them tires inflated while the snow flies!!!

"Front end is coming up, the yellow light comes on"... .Mine displays at the lower display area in the TC window...black bars...

What yellow light are you referring to Hub?If it's your 'engine' light...something isn't okay.?????Have you been messing with the Evap at all?

IDK...mine never warns me in any way about rev limiting...it just does it...I don't even realize it's gonna hit until it does...????Shifting up through the gears...all the way to the limiter...happens so fast...I'm watching the road...but glancing when she hits at it...no lights...nuthin.

Is this feature something you set via the manual? On the dash?I know there's the shift light...is that what's being lit up here?I have mine turned off.

Ha Ha Gen 1 wide open in the cool VA air just gets it pawing at the sky, even being lowered, fall air is just a good thing on a bike, plus the pretty trees going by really fast give it an awe inspiring brain-gasm, lol can't wait to get a gen 2, I wanna feel those extra CC's plus this one won't be lowered, but just for the wheelie effect, lol!!

This is the weather that you set personal bests at the drag strip. The sun heats the track to around 80-85 during the day and then the temp dives into the 60s at night. There is enough residual heat in the track to hook and the air is nice and dense for the consumption. Personally I HATE the KTRC and have only used it playing in the yard seeing how much wheel spin it allows. I wouldn't mind completely flashing it out of my ECU altogether.

Since the addition of the 003A Shinko Hook-Up I have yet to make this tire spin on any decent surface. I even hook on this road with a 90% strip launch. I leave a little on the table so I avoid a nice cold tear. :)
