Akrapovic headers and Yoshimura R77 Slips Help needed!!
08/13/13 7:21 PM

Guys, can someone help me out urgently.
I've ordered the Yoshie R77 slip ons which are on their way, and I requested a quote for the Akra dual outlet headers from the same company. I just got an email from them stating "The headers won't bolt up to the slipons". Can someone please tell me that's not correct. Everywhere I've read tells me the opposite. Is this company just FOS? I already ordered the Akra headers from another company. Do I need to send an email cancelling urgently?
Also, I just received all my Woolich Racing ECU hardware and software. Does anyone have that set-up and can give me some known good configuration values or copies of tables to input. If not, I'll give Justin a shout and ask him.

Wolf is currently riding around that setup.

If they are sending slips from '06 thru '11, your bike is an '012? Then no, the 1st gen will not fit the R header tip ends. It's that tiny mm change that if you could swell/stretch the slip end, then it may slide on. Other than that, check year range, or call the company, ask if this is for the later model and they have slips for the other models? That says they are not tooled up for the 2nd gen tips to slip, they sent you 1st gen slips so cancel.

Thanks C and Hub. That's exactly what I thought. Hub, I have carefully and most succinctly specified 2012-2013 on each of my orders and inquiries. No one else has said this. It seems this company is just full of shit or received inaccurate information on this particular item. Thanks guys. I nearly had a bloody heart attack.

YW. You can't blame the phone clerk, nor can these small cottage industries keep up with every model change from year to year. They'd have to literally buy every model and then know what fits and what needs to be retooled again? That's the problem.

As far as Woolich racing, Romes would be the one to start a How-To Woolich. I'm still waiting for mine or I'd start using the gopro and begin videoing the how-to steps.

Sweet Omega and I are running that set up, I may be wrong but Cara, may also be running that set up. I have a few suggestions on this, I posted my charts on zx 14r look for dyno charts for the results. I have a Romans flash...pm me for details. I am running carbon slips, be careful with those, they bruise real easy!
You oould pm Romans too...ie Romans flash

Wait a minute. If you ordered a header for the R and they retro 06 to 11 slips and changed nothing, then yes, you could get away with something like that... IF... The header is sized for early slips, then yes... If this is Wolf's bike, my guess is the slips slipped on the akra header tips... Which means a narrower exhaust.

I'm sure justin has seen all bin files but not sure he would be willing to give them out. But if he does there is one I would like to see lol , shhhhhhh but I would ?

Romes would be the one to start a How-To Woolich.

I was thinking Rook. He is a master that sort of thing. Rook Should do manuals for a living IMO. If you don't get it after his How too's ????? Well,,, you'll get it lol

Clarifying message to be crystal clear...

My bike was flashed by Romans, (I have Romans Flash) meaning I am running Roman's flash. I do not provide, pretend to provide or share my ecu with anyone, ever!

If you folks are interested in the Romans Flash - PM Romans, the only provider!

Wolfy, for the OP and me. Are we saying you bought the akra header alone, the yosi's alone, the header lines up with the head spread, clears the bottom, has no pipe near an ABS hose or something that yosi says their pipes don't fit the R model, but you loopholed it with two different brands, correct?

Oh, and for sure there is a bung there for the 02 access, right?

Yes bought slips with the bike. Later added header. Ordered PC5. Romes handled my flash and Mitch did install and Dyno tune. Mitch said the akra accepted the slips no prob, he did say fitting the header as things were real cramped was a challengem. I made sure to order the akra with the "bung plug". Hope it helps boys!

Thanks, Wolfy. So, we bore the bike, move the ports in proportion. See how he struggled with the gen1 pipe is my guess? And maybe Hindle had to retool for Brock's sales? So there is your spread at the head and spread at the header's tip change is my guess?

The akra header for the 2012-13 R should fit ANY slips OR even the stock mufflers. I don't know why someone would. But ya could. As long as you ordered the correct part and RECEIVE (that's key), the correct part. You should be good to go!

I wander how the akra header will work with m4 Megaphone slip ons for a 2012.

Does this header fit good without any clearance problems of any kind? Body work, frame, engine etc.

HEy as an off topic point, the header and yosh work together to make a sound like a throaty formula 1 car.
Enjoy. I buzzed my boy beast a few times tonight. It kept him quite alert!
