Rear 200 vs 190 Tire Width
07/05/15 6:54 PM

I noticed a few guys, including TrailBoss, are running 200/55 vs. 190/55 rear. This tire is wider and as such the 55 profile would make it a bit taller that the 190/55. Seems there are a few obvious differences, is larger contact patch and taller for turn-in the reason to consider going with a 200 rear? I have to assume the additional .39 in width can be accommodated on the stock rim, or is this wrong?

Thanks

I have always assumed the same as you. Even sharper turn in and larger cornering contact patch than a 190/55. Also, they must be using them on a stock rim or any 190 mm rim or else they're not squashing out the extra height. Just my thoughts. Never tried a 200 yet. One more, you ought to get a little less tendency to wheelie with the extra height in the back, too.
