Hey everyone. I know this question has been beaten but i would like to be 100% sure. So when I bought the bike a couple weeks ago, I started it up for the first time and it sounded like a kitten purring. No ticking, no nothing unusual. So as a couple hundred km the ticking or tapping sound starts appearing. I have 1400 km on it now and the sound still exists. I read all about the tensioner chain and here are to things; one, why didnt I hear this tensioner chain in the very beginning and, two, I read about people saying that when the engines warms up the sounds goes away while mine doesn't. I would just like to know how to get rid of it. I know about the manual tensioner but just want to make sure that is the sound. Here is a link to my sound file. You can hear the sound at about 9 secs. Its probably the tensioner since i was recording from the right side. Then about 15 secs I record from the left side. The ticking is still audible but not as strong. Besides the manual tensioner, are there other things I can do to make this thing purr again. Oh yeah, the gear canging has sure got a lot louder too. That was one thing that impressed me when I first bought the bike is how quite and smooth the gear hanging was. Not so much any more. Thx all!

Actuall now that I just finished washing my bike, I took a very careful listen to it idle. What I am hearing is a kinda rattle right near the oil filler cap. Its not a tinny rattle but like a heavy chunk of metal rattle. Clutch maybe?
