The House That Torque Built
09/20/14 11:40 AM

Please bear with me here as this first part is simply a little background for those would like to read it.

This journey for me started when I first met a man whom I am now proud to call Friend and Brother. I called Nels to ask about a custom tune and a flash for my girl Priscilla. We talked for quite a while about theory of tuning and practical application of that theory. From the first conversation we ever had, I realized I was dealing with a gentleman of uncommon intellect and talent. His insights were challenging and his conclusions to thought paths so quick as to be almost unbelievable. I was more than impressed. I was kinda stunned actually. I remember calling Wolfman directly after and saying 'Sir, I think I just spoke with a tuner operating on a different level!'. It took a couple of weeks for us both to sort out our schedules and actually get to meet and take our first crack at Priscilla.
It was an overcast day and I took a couple wrong turns on the way to the shop as I am wont to do when I have something on my mind and I'm riding. See, for me the riding is everything. Without my riding, I would not be me. I know this habit sometimes frustrates some. I show up late once in awhile with zero excuse but "I was riding.". :) I showed up about ten minutes late and got to look Nels in the eye and shake his hand for the first time. We immediately got to work. He involved me in every step of the process from day 1. It was a fantastic experience. I asked some dumb questions and I asked some perceptive ones. Nels was able to articulate the process and explain with absolute clarity and common sense what was being done. I had some very specific requests and some exact numbers I was focused on. I had done as much research as possible and was prepared for our direction. I was stunned at the rapidity and fluency with which the tune was built. It was obvious to me my first impressions were correct. This is a different level of tuning being provided by a different level of tuner. I knew we were onto something! After some 40 something dyno pulls, and Nels involving me and teaching me what was happening, we had created what I still feel was an incredible flash. That first day I left I was floored. We pulled Priscilla off the dyno after making 200 hp on pump gas with slips.
We shook hands and agreed to talk soon, both of us were incredibly pleased with the tune and that day reigns in my mind as not only pivotal, but one of the most fun experiences I have ever had with the machine. The learning and the actual proving of theory real time on the dyno was an experience I will not forget. I fired up Priscilla and put my gloves on, swung leg and rolled out. As I first pulled through second gear I could feel a huge difference. The way the ignition timing was working with the fuel maps created and was translating to a ferocious pull when rolling on the throttle. I spent a little time getting acquainted with her, maybe 20 minutes. Then I hit a road I know well, rolled 3rd gear to the stop, front end skipping up in the air, grabbed fourth, held it..., redline bump once, grabbed 5th, held it to 11000, 6th to the stop as the needle pegged.... held it.... wow. That was a ride home. My head was blown. It took me several days to fully grasp the significance of the tune we had created. Strong, smooth, flawless. That is how it started. I found a trusted friend and mentor that day, and my passionate affair with Priscilla deepened...
Since then Nels has taught me so much. He has shown me paths to performance and let me draw my own conclusions. He has let me make some big leaps on my own and he has pushed me to make others. His knowledge, his leadership, and his friendship have elevated me as a total person. He sets an example in work ethic that few will ever match. His sense of fair and right is a lodestone. His integrity speaks for itself. His passion for tuning and performance is as great as mine own. Thank you Nels.

Now, onto the Subject of this thread! We began working together shortly after that first tune. We both saw a way to bring performance forward with the possibilities and potential in the flash. Many track days and 10's of thousands of miles later, Nels has allowed me and Predator Race Team to partner with him and build something great together. 2 WheelDynoWorks and Predator Race Team have a new platform for creating and offering state of the art tunes and flashes to our customers.
I am proud to announce we have a new, state of the art, soundproof, massive air moving, dyno room with a flawless almost zero miles dynojet dynamometer. All the upgrades, powered wheel choks (too cool Nels), and new updated motherboard etc. One must use quality tools in order to create the finest results. One must also understand those tools fully. I knew the opportunity to work with Nels and actually Build a dyno room would be life changing. We started together on disassembly from the facility where Nels purchased the full custom room and dyno setup itself. All the walls and roof panels had to broken down taken apart and fully disassembled. They are heavy bitches, lemme tell ya. Took many trips and I fear one dodge transmission to get the dyno and all of its components and the room moved. Lemme tell ya, three guys can move a dyno drum section by themselves, but it aint easy! Once the dyno was moved to Nels shop in Woodinville, the real work began. we re-organized and cleaned everything and basically moved everything out in order to start from fresh, new and, square. Once done, actual assembly and fabrication began in putting the room together. All the venting and electrical had to be fabbed and the room itself assembled around the dyno and its stand etc. Now completed and plumbed with two HUGE Dayton Farm Equipment fans that move more air than any setup I have ever seen, we have not only the finest tools at our disposal with a state of the art dyno room, but we are going to continue to work tirelessly together to provide relevant updates if necessary, and support for existing customers, while breaking new ground with new Motorcycles and new customers. We have plans in place to provide a tune and flash for the upcoming H2 and will be completing work and releasing the much awaited MR-12 race fuel update for the flash. If you want to learn about a dyno and how one works, the opportunity to disassemble, and re-assemble a full dyno room is the absolute best way! We have so far been able to run Priscilla on her and with the flawless refined data we can gather, even on that first day, nels and I were able to find the next level of fine adjustment. Small percentages matter. I actually got to run Priscilla myself for several runs on the new dyno... WOW! THANK YOU NELS! Running the new dyno felt like driving an AMG Mercedes. What an awesome girl is that dyno bro! We have to name her!
I can't say enough about how excited I am to work harder and push more for performance. We have the tools, we have the math, and we have the courage and drive to continue to elevate and evolve this performance that we all love so much. Planned immediate updates include full on-board Data logging for Priscilla to prove our AFR and ignition work at speed real time at the track and on the street. We have also recently equipped Priscilla with not only Zeitronix data logging capability but also the ability to mobile flash. I can now roll up to any local or not so local events and flash any late model 14R or 10R within minutes right off of the custom harness and Priscilla's ECU harness herself. Data logging at the highest level, and not only the ability to mobile self flash, and update at the track or on the street, but also the ability to hook up and flash other motorcycles with no wifi or plug in power support required, makes Priscilla one Technically Advanced Machine.
We have been very busy lately and I apologize if I missed any of y'alls calls or texts. I try and respond as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone for all of the continued support and passion for what we do! Without you performance minded enthusiasts none of this would be.

Thanks Wolf! And thanks to FrankTheTank for all the help and hard work bud! Couldn't have done it without you! It was a lot of fun too man! Who told Corny to buy so many pizzas? I thought the instructions were clear. Rofl! A grand time was had by all!

And even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't lurk here, thanks to Ryan! Always had an opinion and is a great rider with the worst leaky, parts falling off, pos on two wheels. But I know yA like your girls all leaky and busted ryan! :)) rofl!

This project was fun and challenging and I learned a ton! Lastly, thanks again to Nels! Of course none of this could happen without your energy, knowledge, commitment and experience. You have not just been a Jedi, you have been the fulcrum around which tuning the 14R has advanced to the next level. You are never afraid to challenge and prove out the tuning methods and technology that are stepping things forward. An honor to work with a genius at his craft sir.

I hope some of the nay Sayers, read this, I have heard some people on this board say that Sebastion
knows "nothing" let me tell you, I talk to C all the time, and I know not only his passion,
BUT his extensive knowledge, especially in areas where the numbers in the ECU are concerned ...

I also know first hand, how good his flash is, to those that say C knows nothing, well you
just really don't know C .....

Rock on brother, build it, and they will come ....

No C thanks to you and Nels for the chance to be involved in this endever not everyday you get to help with disassembly and reassembly of a piece of equipment such as that. I would also like to thank C and Nels for the information taught and shared. What I've learned in the last year having the privilege working beside yous guys is immeasurable.

Thanks again for it all, Tank

Well, congrats to all, all around! But my question is simple; "what does a flash cost now?"

I am finally recovering from surgery and complications enough to begin to ride again and by December, I will be putting the bike away for sure; a good time for an ecu removal and flash.

I' ve asked before but that was a long time and many changes ago; have also inquired of Romans a while back and did not receive a reply. Don't know if he is still flashing or not (no pun intended).

I'm talking no pc and 2-Bros black series pipes and I'd rather not shut down the pair valve unless that's the only way to get it,

Any answer would be appreciated: pm me, if you wish. Thanks.

Nice job Sebastian (and Nels), cool to see some pictures to go along with the discussions we had about this project.

I KNOW you will do well, and I will do my best to put the word out there to help in your continued success!

In my opinion, the flash should sell itself - but not everyone knows about it...

P.S. I have my Predator Race Team shirt on today too

And hey Paul! The 14R Cblast flash is $400.00
That first ride... Priceless!
