If BG allows it.

Even tho BG said in the beginning he had little dollars involved starting the board he does have lot and lots of hours in trying to make changes for the better. I know he said he wanted a free board but some day this place might need some more of that band thingy upgrade stuff and even tho the board is free there is nothing that says we cannot try to help the cause.

So if BG allows it I have a new set of Corbin Peg Extenders that you all can bid on and who ever is high bidder Saturday at 6 pm is the winner. Winner sends a check to BD and I pay shipping to the lower, upper and sides of the cont 48. Since I am in Missouri I figure the lower 48 is all around me.

Now you may ask why would some woodchip from Missouri do this? Well truth is nobody wants the Corbin kit and I could not even give it away so I thought this would be a good gimmick to get it out of the gayrage.

If BG allows it and you feel like bidding then go for it.

Later == Bobby

lytnin:

I saw your post yesterday, and I just wanted to tell you what a generous thing this is to do. You may not get much action at this point on your auction, as there are still fewer than 200 members here (but growing fast). Actually, we are over 300 unique visitors per day so far. But I wanted to let you know that I REALLY appreciate the thought, and that the forum is looking good long term regardless of the outcome.

Thanks a bunch! -bg

If by this you mean the Corbin peg lowering kit, I wouldn't let you pay me to take them off your hands.

I still have mine in the box. The "powder coating" is not worth a darn and will virtually rub off during assembly and from use, revealing steel which will rust. The bolts are low grade and will rust. And the fitment is problematical.

And worst of all, when I called Corbin headquarters and talked to Mike's second-in-command, she told me point blank they had NO return policy, and they would not take them back, and could not tell me how to solve the quality and fitment problems.

Anyone that does business with Corbin is asking to be disappointed in the event they send you low quality merchandise like the peg lowering kit. And out the money you spent, as well.

They are not powder coated. They are painted and not prepped before the spray. The only fit problem is if the bottom of the brake adjust rod clears the exhaust pipe.

Mr. Privateer the next time I do an auction with the dollars being given to the board I will contact you for your approval so you do not feel you and Hub have to publicly shame for trying to do something good. Maybe you can give me a pre-approved form of the right parts to get rid of so I never offend the "Rights Of Mr. Privateer" and the board will be a better place for the inept people like myself.

So by the above statement I should assume you are not going to bid on these????????????

I would also almost bet that if I sent you a $500 check with the parts that the parts might get retuned but the check wouldn't. That might make you a liar.
:)

Got lots of ZRX parts if anybody is interested and none made by Corbin.................

The Corbin website says they are powder coated (or did 6 months ago), as does the flyer included with my set. And their installation instructions are a joke, they show you how to install the left side but ignore the right side problem completely.

The fitment problem I mention is indeed to the right side as you point out, above.

Thanks for confirming my objections to this Corbin product. Even if you get it installed, it will rust in places you cannot see until it rusts through and becomes a problem.

Btw, I used to live near Hollister, CA, and knew Mike when he was just starting out. Back then, they were great folks to deal with. The seats back then were actually good, today they are not so well made, and hard as a rock in all the wrong places. I've had my seat redone by Spencer, and he did a wonderful job for very little money.

Both of my ZRX's have Corbin seats and you can ride forever on them. Take in mind the ZRX is a standard so sitting position is very very little lean so you get to sit on your butt and not your nuts.
I have to send the wives Honda 919 seat to Spencer because after 15 minutes you can no longer feel your nuts. I found a 2008 Connie seat for my 14 for $100 plus shipping. Hope to see it next week

Hi lytnin thanks for the thought , your idea was well placed and well recieved by bg and others . shame I live in the better half of the globe, or I would bid just to be apart of the spirit of it all.

Just imagine if I won , I'd have to visit you northern hemispherical folks to collect.

Bike, Ship, Bike ride

Bike, Ship, Bike ride

Every biker needs to do that once when they are "young". Its such a great experience.

In 1991 I shipped my ZX11 to London (from California), took the ferry to Calais, France, and over the next 24 days, rode all the way north to Groningen Holland to watch the Assin TT (GP), to the south coast of France with a foray into northern Italy and Spain just to say I'd been there.

Might never do anything quite as cool again. Hope I do, but doubt it.

privateer, I know a little of what you mean, sent mine across the sea to Noo Zuland for 6 weeks.

Dream of something like "London (from California), took the ferry to Calais", doing Europe or North America
I keep useing time and money as an excuse not to go, while the years keep rolling past at a ever increaseing speed.

One day ?

sorry for the Highjack

I've got to say, I agree with privateer. These are totally worthless garbage....well the company is. I also tried and tried to get Corbin to help me. They're useless. Maybe the most worthless company on earth. I will nevvvver use anything made by them again, EVER! I did however have a corbin seat on my 14. It was a 100 times better then stock. But if your going to buy corbin...be aware! I'd like 5 minutes alone in a locked room with Mike Corbin. I'd beat his punk a.....well you get the picture. With that said (I'm just trying to let my fellow 14 owner friends know the risk)lytnin, I think your doing a good thing. So I'm be willing to help in any way. And just so others know. You can make the kit work. But it means a lot of trips to the hardware store. I had to get longer bolts and put spacers in between the kit and the frame of the motorcycle. So it will work. It's just a pain. But Mike Corbin is a idiot! A useless idiot!
