Dang it , I've got a ZX14R , and 2003 supercharged C5 corvette and I get a speeding ticket in my GMC pickup , ugh its going to be a long summer trying to not get another one I've not even got the car out of storage , I am just mad at my self for not paying attention , but my new GMC does ride incredibly smooth , ok im done bitching , keep cruising everyone ,

2 tickets here. I've slowed down, stay to the right. Wait 3 years for them to clear and start all over wink-wink.

Sorry to hear. I've been lucky enough to be ticket free since 2005.

My first real ride of the season almost got me a ticket. Weaving in and out of traffic doing darn near 80 in a 65 (in my defense, everyone else was going 70-75), flew right past a trooper that was pulling out to nab someone. I thought I was toast. He went around me and got a car instead.

I got my first and only speeding ticket on the 14R last year. Not a bad track record!

Expect it when you least expect it. I think that's a good thing. It keeps me on my toes when I'm on a bike and that's when I go fast.

Last time I got snagged the LEO let me off with a reckless which is much better than the speeding ticket in NJ. The reckless doesn't carry points or insurance surcharge.

88 in a 70 two weeks ago on I95 in southern GA ... in a damn rental car Had the cruise set at 78 but was in a hurry so would touch the accelerator here and there between cars ... but OOPS ... pig had his gun on me.

The only bright spot ... it's "only" $180. Been years since I've rcvd a ticket, but I expected more like $500, which I think is what it would be here in FL.

11 years on a Busa, no tickets, first ticket on the 14R in about 20 years (motorcycle)
freaking cager baited me, I lost all sense of rational, was speeding in a place I should
have known better ...

It could have been worse though, as he got me for 10 over the safe speed limit, I was doing
58 in a 40, he wrote me up for 55 in a 40, good thing he didn't catch me on the freeway ....

That could have been brutal ....

LOL yeah... for all the hijinks I've done riding I've never got a ticket on my bike. That of course, I'm extremely thankful for. Props to LEOs that get safe riders out just trying to use their bikes in some of the intended ways.

If you guys can't resist the urge to speed. Check to see if your state transfers points from neighboring states. If I get caught speeding in New York, the points don't get transferred over to my Jersey license.

I drive like an angle to Jersey boarders then all hell breaks loose once i'm in NY lol

2012smurf. You actually have that backwards. If you have a NJ license and get a speeding ticket in NY, NJ gives you 2points on your license. If you live in NY like I do you don't get points in NY if you get a ticket in NJ. Check your DMV website. Also DWI transfers in BOTH states from ALL states.

I got stopped by an unmarked Sheriff the day after Thanksgiving this year on PCH southbound headed towards Santa Maria. He lights me up and I pull over to the side of the road , shut off the bike and start the removal of my gloves and helmet. By the time I am done he is out of the car and standing on the should watching me. As I pulled the helmet off I stepped off the bike and said "Good afternoon oficer" with a big shit eating grin on my face. He said "You do know why I stopped you". I said "Of course, you want to check out my beautiful motorcycle". I think it caught him off guard. He checked my license and told me I passed him doing 88mph, smiled and told me he was not going to cite me and let me go.....Yes!

Most of us have learned it's not the 100+ mph blast that gets you nailed (I'm sure it happens). It's the 100+ mph cruise that gets you nailed. I think Rook's said he learned this lesson pretty well. And let's face it, you go running 20 mile at 150 you probably deserve a ticket if you get it.

So get your blast in, run it for a mile (as long as you can see your threats) and back her down.

Be kind to LEOs. Throw them a thumbs up or wave (make sure NOT to be misunderstood). Wear high-vis gear. They will look at you with a different eye. I won't take LEOs for granted, but I do sometimes get the feeling they cut me a little slack when they see my bright gear and protective gear. They are just people too, out doing a job most of us do not want to do. Don't think of LEOs as out to get you, think of them as out there helping protect you as a motorcyclist that likes to play hard from time to time when the opportunity is right. They're out protecting you from cagers and the bad riders. See what I'm saying? That's just my perspective.

I have a niece that wants to become a LEO. If she wants to be one, LEOs really can't be that bad cause she's a sweetheart! She's 22, she joined the military and is going to be a MP. LOL you guys (and gals) will love this...she's like 5'3 and if she weighs 100lbs soaking wet I'd be shocked! And yes..of course I worry about her from a physical perspective.. but hey she has balls! I'm a proud uncle (of all my nieces and nephews).

Law Enforcement Officers. Some are outstanding people. They can differentiate between criminals and everyday family men. They will warn when they recognize you're an average Joe Having Fun. And then there's the true aXXhole. Writing tickets, pulling folks over, meeting quotas and hassling motorcyclist. These mirrored glasses wearing baboons are the bane of my existence.

I don't count on many letting me off for doing over 100. That seems insane to average person. DON'T do it on the interstate or the expressway. Do it out in the sticks somewhere. I had one good blast on the expressway last summer but it was risky. Onramps are a good place to push it for a few seconds. That is the big disappointment about this bike, you can't get out of second gear and you have to slow down in most situations.
