Decal Removal Using Thread
05/24/10 2:54 PM

Reading this thread inspired me to remove the blocky KAWASAKI decal letters from the front fairing on my 2006 ZX.
I used a loop of kevlar thread.
I worked it under the edges of each letter, and with consistent tension, I gradually pulled the loop of thread closed.
As the loop of thread got smaller and smaller it cut through the decal adhesive leaving most of it sticking to the decal.
Very little decal adhesive remained on the fairing.
DO NOT PULL THE THREAD IN A BACK AND FORTH "SAWING" MOTION.
DOING SO WILL SLIGHTLY GROOVE THE CLEARCOAT.
FOR A PERFECT DECAL REMOVAL, JUST PULL THE LOOP CLOSED.
