Fix the jerky problem changing sprockets ?
10/28/21 11:19 AM

I changed my sprocket and I have a problem of hesitation at low RPM. I know Guhl can fix this problem. I contacted Guhl to send him my ECU. But he told me that: he no longer does ECU flashing on ECUs that have, or have had, a VIN!?!

Does anyone know of a place that can solve the hesitation problem when changing sprockets on a ZX14R?

Thanks

Maybe Ivan's Performance?

Kind of weird how it's trying to intervene showing you the stumble is triggered at that rpm to whatever gear. Annoying sure. Hurts anything? No. Can't find a flasher, live with that little glitch. Mine is all stock and I have a driveability glitch at low rpm a number of times and can tell it's the way of the beast.

Well, I know the stumble you're talking about. But it's so simple is the complex. They had it formulated for those two gear ratios right down the tooth. Without gaining map access, don't have a clue. Only have ideas thrown at teflon walls:

1. No doubt it's been done, but I'm more trying to trick the software. Can we change the other tooth then at the other sprocket? Stumble goes away?
2. Takes a hacker to live with his hack. It's only that low stumble and the gearing is not there, right? Gear change was for higher mph so lay it on the ignore pile.
3. No help, can't ignore it, there's always back to stock.
