Anybody a musician? I'm not. The covi made me do it. Borrowed my b-in-law's guitar [years ago] and messed around. Sold that old pile I played with so he's got nothing to loan. I just didn't remember which way to play so I found the black lefty for 40. Watched some vids and tried to repair the electrics. One pot was bad so I just bought a 25 dollar scuff guard with the pots and switch already wired. Flipped the guard over but it was for a Fender not the Lotus. It was easier to swap out the electrics to the original scuff. Tuned it to E and C for strumming. Began to enjoy the chase for a right hander.

Just when I was about to give up, but then again, changed my mind, here I was about to order some cheap 76 dollar knockoff for free shipping. The guitars I looked at were nice looking photo wise, but when I saw it in person, and then the price for it even at that high price? The other was, believe it or not, a right handed Lotus. What are the odds? I almost had a match. But the frets were toast and I low balled it and no go. Wasn't meant to be.

Went thru some quick schooling with those three, and here we are just hours ago picking this Aria up for a buck 25. I missed the broken nut and coulda walked away with a hun even. It was going for 150. Got a bag, pack of new strings, bottle of polish and a pick that went with it. Anything but that cheap knockoff. Right off I could tell the difference between the electrics.

So I'm catching the hand positions, but the hell if I can strum like that. I bought that guitar just to try and play the intro to this song. Over and over till I learn it. Thank you covi.

I have a red Mark Knopfler Signature Fender Stratocaster and a Rivera Fandango amp.
Plus an old Washburn acoustic.

If I could post personal video's here I'd throw a couple out there of me playing.

No talent but enjoy it...

No talent but enjoy it...

I said to myself writing the above, I wonder if yann plays? The old lady loved flamenco and tired to get me to play. Got a tutor to come to the house but I wasn't disciplined enough to stick to it. Then for some reason I started to play and found a few cord changes trying to build from there. The old lady said to me one day, 'that's a sad song'. I showed my b-n-law that little run of cord changes and to do something with it. He gave me a compliment and said that he was a musician and I was the artist.

When I pick that thing up I'm always looking for something; never try and copy. It's endless are those 12 notes, right? Music that we have yet to hear. That's where I'm looking. Just finger fumbling, no clean notes, no talent as well. I could get a little of the intro, but I was trying it with the left guitar. That's right hand held, high e at the top. Much easier now with the low E at the top like normal.

If I could post personal video's here I'd throw a couple out there of me playing.

What's the term, a sim card? You have a phone with a micro card? Piggy that into the adapter and then to the tower of the computer? Or are you all phone for the net and no laptop even?

Because you are just going to play something with the phone, run the usb cord from phone to laptop, find the phone/video file [for a better description], drag and drop that file to your utube account.

High E at the top?
That must have made it tough with chords, theory and scales.

Have to start calling you Jimmy Hendrix with the upside down guitar!

Good you sorted it though.

Big difference between you and me Hub.
You are creative.
I replicate.

All my guitar work is finding songs I like and working out the backing or lead to them.
Plenty of chord progressions / tabs on the net.

I would like to have your creativity but its just not one of my attributes.

I have a fair little setup.
Several effects pedals, basic 4 track recording system, simple loop facility, pre-recorded drum tracks, and yes a microphone for which the results are not even available for my wife to listen to!

Not sure if you are interested but there is an amazing site on the net called "JustinGuitar".
The guy set it up for people to learn guitar no matter what level they are at.
His main goal was to provide a free site for people who couldn't afford lessons.
He does ask for donations or a purchase of one of his products but only if you can afford it.
Very generous guy.
Endorsements from Brain May, Mark Knopfler, etc.

I have bought some of his theory soft copy books.

Check it out if it is something that appeals to you...

P.S.
I would only upload here but not to uTube.

All my guitar work is finding songs I like and working out the backing or lead to them

Not even close to that level. In fact, no songs pop in my head. I always hear musicians say they wake up with a tune and for me I just wake up.

My b-in-law is a setup guy. Low strings, set the intonation, all that. I got the lefty up and running, eyeball the pickups close to the strings... nice. Probably has the original strings. Then I watch a video of some session musician talking about his 18 year old strings still on his base. Says the tone is better to him. Who knows? I had those strings off so many times messing with the pot wiring, my b-in wanted to change the strings out to a set of 9's.

I just parked the lefty in the gig bag and have the righty here at my side ready to be picked up and chase the cords like you do. Basic music theory started to sound easy. Now I get it. I think I'm having more fun playing now than before. Especially matching those notes to the U2 song, because he's just a strum bum like Slash. When I watched a John Mayer video and he mocked Slash by just strumming the same old note, I got a kick out of that one.

So who's the list you have? My selection is short and has changed over the years, where I had Jeff Beck as #1, but I had a love/hate relation with SRV. I had to again understand what I was listening to, and now SRV is #1. Never fluffed a note on any video I watched of him. Beck either, just saying that guy was something else. Third is this Josh Smith guy. Now you can learn some shit for Smith. He's got that numbers thing covered. Transitions from one note to the next and it works. That's the style I'd like to figure out on the scale. Probably Mayer is 4th. BB and Clapton are overrated. Still don't see anything I can ouu-ahh about. Beck, you can shout out, 'did you hear that'?

All I have is a Johnson J-station my b-in told me to buy. I have a little cheap buzzy Peavey practice amp. Ran the faraday [aluminum] foil in the box and grounded it. Bought the copper tape to faraday the body cutouts, but this thing sounds clean so I'll wait. Yeah, I do have a lot of bookmarks with guitar stuff to go back to. I was going to say, who are you watching for some good stuff? I'll go to Justin after this post. Thanks!

You'd have to read the sheet music to follow these guys. Virtuoso for sure, but can you pick out a memorable melody? Like I said, lots to unlock from a musical instrument. Your guy is pretty good, yanni. What am I doing with this one? I'm trying to pick at the fret board to harmonize (semitone?) with this song. Where someone would start out matching notes, I'm after other notes. Here is where I get out the camera, record the piano notes on camera, then load it onto movie-maker so it repeats on its own over and over. That's the practice. Chase a semitone, yes?

I know win8 on down has movie-maker. Still have an old running tower with windows in it? Forget utube, try https://imgur.com/upload

Harmonize to this and load up the vid.

The AMAZING amount of skill and nuances in his playing are incredible.#1 IMO.If you hear this on a high quality sound system,it'll totally grab ya.Every note is different though the same. He's so darn good.
In all his performances and every song,he never misses a note.

I played two or three years and I was starting to get pretty ok at it. College ended all the practicing. I'm wasn't a natural guitar player. I never learned to read music. I figured out everything by ear. I learned things that were much to complex for my level but after a lot of practice, I could play them right along with the recording. I almost bought an acoustic guitar last winter. An electric guitar is a lot more applicable to the music I like but there's nothing like the warmth of an acoustic guitar if you ask me. It responds so much more to how you play it than and electric guitar does. Maybe I'll get back into guitar playing. There's a lot of oher stuf that I already do---which is why I gave up the guitar in the first place.

We could have a ZX-14 band.

Breedlove is a great acoustic guitar if anyone is interested in that. They're designed more for a fingerpicking style which is something I loved to do. I was considering a rosewood/redwood Breedlove guitar for ~$3000 but you can get a great sounding Breedlove for less than that. They all have an excellent pickup inside for an amp if you prefer. LOL I see they have one now for $7000. Better be something spectacular for that money!

IMO it is highly unlikely Biden will be the Democratic candidate in November!
The fact that his senility increases everyday, he has almost zero ability to put a logical thought and sentence together without stumbling and making error, and the fact that Trump will easily destroy him in debate creates no certainty that he will be the man.
The Democrats cannot base their 2020 presidential hopes on this man.

Remember when I said this earlier on this thread?

How can the Democrats place all their 2020 hopes on someone who is obviously not mentally stable and disintegrating?
Covid 19 has been a godsend to Joe Biden keeping him out of the public arena.

But if the debates happen it will simply be a lamb to the slaughter.

And so it continues.

I stand by my point of view...
