... Some wild shit... I think Oregon and a few abandon towns in other states might put on some national events. That scooter at the end... listen to the engine.

MAD, if you drop all this hate for the guy, did Jon nail it, yes or no? And could Joe match what that office needs right now are those qualities? Hello? Did you hear the tree drop in the forest 30 miles away, Madaphysics?

15k came up I tackled a 4 point service interval. Plugs, valves, coolant, front end. Took my time from Saturday till 9pm tonight. It was factory assembled once. I'm sitting here with a speed nut and a tube ring. They had to have come off of the rubber engine covers.

Speed nuts are the clips where you push the center locker button in. This lets the 4 wings collapse to remove the speed nut body. The tube split-rings are those that hold the brake lines on the front fender. I know the one holds the coolant line directly out of the res tank and that's on.

What I didn't do was take photos of what went where? If I did these all day long, sure, it would take a few hours if not the day. Don't know what a valve adjust job costs, but that rubber cover over the cam cover is something to watch for if you're attempting this on your own. Parts pages are no help. Shop manual is so-so.

Took the coolant res off and emptied that. Saw some cake on the bottom of the tank so I shot some peroxide and vinegar in it, shook it around and they ate it off. Poured some baking soda in just for kicks and flushed it out with fresh water. Turned out nice and clean.

Experimented with the tensioner setting and kept like a half a threads loose, loaded the chain backwards to send the slipper up against the tensioner. Took a rubber mallet to the back of the tensioner and it popped the shaft out of the pre-locker ring. Tightened the bolts. That ring has to move a hair so there is hardly a full thread turn out just so the locker ring moves off of that groove.

Flushed the coolant system with distilled water until it drained clear. Damn time consuming, I wonder how much all this would cost dealer wise? Did the brake flush and oil change last month about. Only thing I didn't change was the front fork fluid. This thing is ready to go... till the next front end lube. This is the second front end relube.

Too late tonight to let it warm up and idle so I can top off the radiator. That's in the morning. Set the valves as loose as possible. Found about 4 within spec, the others I changed or swapped pretty much most of them with the other shims I pulled out of the other buckets. A few from the box of spares.

Well, off to the parts pages to see where speedy and ringy go?

For seat of the pants'ers only. What a surprising change a set of plugs make. These were in until I set the valves. Took it out for a ride for a sushi session. All I can say is 'Crisp' is the tune. A set of points are so-so, but you can tell this thing is digitally on the raggedge of throttle response.

I sure miss wrenching. I haven't got the time now. It looks like that could be the story until next summer and then I guess we'll see.

Oh and it's so nonchalant about the test ride coming back. I dress like I look like I mean business or just like the color black. I sort of gain a gap so the on ramp is a double lane but turns into one. And it's a tight right handed C turn. Someone with pipes on a little sports car fucks with me, goes deep into the beginning of the C and I'm on the tighter inside lane.

I'm in between... what the fuck am I doing, and I've got thishit. Meanwhile, I just watched a Smokey Yunick video and his wife quoted him about seat gap. Where they move forward off the seat and are not comfortable relaxed back in the seat. And the quote was, "... not as comfortable in the danger they were putting themselves in." Here I am in the middle of all this in between thinking and blew that guy away with such a gap, I cut off a car it happened so fast.

Is it road rage or just the racing instinct kicking in? Ha, I've got this goatee growing out of the helmet and they think it's some old guy. Or is it that T-type personality showing thru? Never gets old?

RE: Don't Get Mad, but...

This is the 2nd epiphany I had with Kruz's event and within days, or say this day, was how the abstract was read in a shop manual. Another site I go to was to bring up my old thread and use Kruz' example as to how to walk like analog says, but does not tell you all the multiplex moves about the unit.

See, I have the HD shop manual with the abstract in the book of course, so I'm not about to go online and hear how they say it works. Will they quote the book, sure. Here is the maze of a basic sensor the book does not tell you. They're following the book per instructions and yes, it's an on off switch is the VOES. So you add that and a few more search words and a title heading pops up and reads something about the controversy of the VOES.

That puts me in the middle of the road seeing both sides. Either way, my way of thinking is a sensor that sends analog, period. End of discussion. The V has two wires, and a way to send a linear signal up the wire by the pull of vacuum.

To me, the V is more the mother of the sensor. First installed on the HD back in the early 80's. Nothing has changed on that puppy, now on our bikes, called an intake air pressure sensor. By wire or air, it still sends analog up a wire.

I keep saying that's all you need to know is if you were following Kruz's meter diagnosing, is follow and see if 1's and 0's are the signals the ECU is waiting for, not all zeros or no input at all. That's it, we are stopped at the wire side of the input side of the ECU. Get that, you get the rest.

So back to the harley types that know this sensor, but are brainwashed calling it an on off switch. As I walk out the long type, it's making me step one interlinking step after the other trying to get across the first key of many magnetic signals of lengths it takes to see where the crank spin is at? So to run, it wants to see many different lengths of E up the wire the ECU recognizes.

Then I told them I can ride the bike as slow as possible and finally flat out the bike's speed, I'll never feel an on off kind of move, yeah it's a switch. Still trying to show them E is linear and even though it swaps maps, it's a test of the sensor to see if it can swap maps under load. The switching part is a load, like I WOT the throttle and throw the one map for knock and use this advance curve. I lift, I am back to this map with no load or cruise mode with a different [more smoother] curve.

Now we hack it and pull either the ground wire or wire into the processor, it codes into the backup. So limp sets. Only two moves in the black box, so hot the one map stayed locked magnetically. Took the ground off, and the other map came up as the limp. Or the retard is more the map, and you feel this snap with the gps hack real quick to full advance. So the realization was, hey, you are testing a switching device, of more a linear move of flipflop. No magnet inside to lock a V like a relay.

It's a linear sensor ya dumb fucks! Fucking on off my ass. And do you think I can get them to think analog out of a switch or sensor? You shitCANkeybootells you right in the book look for the liner move, oh by the way, the abstract says on and off so I don't have to write about how stupid you look not seeing analog up your ass or not.

For me, laughing out loud shit for one. What fun smacking my head, hey, you and me reading the same abstract, oh so was that funny. It really doesn't matter if they get it or not, I'm just tearing up laughing. Too much fun on the net.

Same for Kruz' deal. It's right in front of you and you didn't see it. Stupid me. Then I laugh at myself and oh WATT fun to change a set of plugs and feel the digital sensation. Having fun with my favorite subject playing wit the puzzle pieces.

Signed,
Looking at a boat anchor with 000000's up its gangplank,
Only does the analog move a spinning crank.

Gangplank? Yes, took me days to finding the numbers between the containers. Sorry for the delay. That gasket is at the starboard gangplank, you can pick it up there.

Mods......... don't boot this guy off quite yet please! Winter is coming and the entertainment level here may break records, lol!

Guy is writing a book!
This guy is an idiot boot him off!

Typical shit. I write in the long. Someone comes along, hey, lighten up, you're pounding these tech question out and no one knows what the hell you're saying. OK, let me try it your way.

Was out all day with it, rode it home. Next morning to go out and my bike is fried when I tried to start it. Dash light and taillight stay on with key off... 'Turn key on and take a temp gun and run down the harness and see the temp change somewhere.'

Look OP, listen to none of that. We see it's your very first post and would like to know where you're from and I would first see if the stator smells. Might be the VR while the stator, where you might look there first.

And when I heard that: Isn't dis a tech section on E? Not the intro on the home page go there about sparky and his other pets. I'm just wondering how you came down to seeing the guy out all day, rides the bike home in total loss as the stator is the first place to look, and turns the key on, smokes the ground cable, with a stator that no longer making current and the odds of him making it back to the garage and you wonder why 18 pages later you all keep pulling your dicks in a circle jerk me off with that shit suggestion is look here first. Just came back from coast to coast and the fry stops here?

Get that motherfucker out of here, raise your hands Karen's I mean Ken. That arrogant shittyit is I'm going to have a heart attack. No, not yet... winter is coming and little do they know I'm waiting for that password cancelation.

Well fancy that. A 3 day'er. Rugged individuals on a harley. Freedom of speech and what the fuck is this guy saying? Enough to piss you motherfuckers off. Been awhile, 52-53 at least bye now, see you later, thanks for the chad. Kind of funny. The opened threads were like looking at the 1's with an open post going and never comes back. One guy talked about the carb and questioned his theory. Principal calls me in, I see like 4 off to the side and they say 'monitor' and then like I give a shit 'monitor' says, something like pack your bags. I more or less say and I see this come across the monitor:

You have been banned for the following reason: Not conforming with requests regarding cogent posted content..

I'll give you cogent...

I'm picking off these harley sites right and left. Got this one on the hook right now.

Hold on, fella super moderator, I asked you a computer question as you walked yours and I caught a stumble. Now, one more time, does this do this and are we on the same page yet? Instead of answering something right off the top of the head, he comes back with...

"OK this is the end of it. Next bullshit post and you draw a ticket to banned camp."

Really? And I'm waiting for your other tech tough guy to get his a-N works for both tps and vac. I said a-N is for heavy load and tps for light loads in the J-D method. Well where is your light load then?

And then super moderator says you're all screwed up saying the same thing and not the right terminology, go buy this book. So fukit I bought the book. A bathroom reader. I'm almost done with another book. Thing is, I eat once a day and shit tootsie rolls 3 days later, I'll be done with the book in a year from now.

Signed,
Camp Cranial, how can I help me?

Next
Harley site... slowly creeping up on that password trophy:
Q ~
"hello everyone, sorry for the stupid question but by chance if you leave the handlebars for a few seconds your bike tends to the right or left? Mine on the right, it seems to have the forks slightly out of line ..
Thank you"

A ~
"Front forks out of line? I would look at Les' post on wheel alignment. I've never heard of such a thing as out of line forks. The forks are locked between a pair of triple tree mounts. So, unless you have a fractured triple tree or two, your forks are in line. After a heavy collision fork tubes can get bent. But, that doesn't seem to have happened."

In comes ~ The Thread Killer:

Been silent ever since. One of the regs/guru show up to post... I'm gunning for these motherfuckers.
Get to listen to my music at the same time. And now for displace, I'm going to tear that guy a new ashole, it's just black carbon up dare... me, motherfucker!...

... "You have been banned for the following reason: I warned you about filling other people's threads with wrong information. You have a 30 suspension to consider your actions on this forum.. Your ban will be lifted on Dec 13, 2021 at 9:00 PM."
Fucking ashole does not see the "generic" in it. Gunna slowly BBQ this shittyit to see it my way or the highway. I'm in the hunt for clap on/clap off... Just for sport. LOL

A PM and a demand to change my tune...
"No, but there is civility. In this forum, where we are polite and agree to disagree if viewpoints clash, and leave the personal references out of the discussion. If, as you say, it was not addressed to Jensen personally, then why did you make direct reference to him along with the crass comments about looking out the window and seeing him doing something you believe is in futility? We all have our opinions, but in the end the only one that counts in these situations is mine.

I'd suggest you read your newest private message from me and take it seriously."

Laughing so hard. The question was oiling for few months of season sitting. I said don't bother if barn finds light right off and no smoke after sitting for decades on end. He's giving me the argument about oxidization, the craters, the etching, and that's years of sitting, not a few months next the dryer in the garage. I said you want to go extreme, go race daytona and that swamp wets/rusts the valves overnight so we spray WD to stop the rust.

The real fun is they sure know how I described him under the hood of the car.

Then I'm called out as an arrogant yada-yada big ego referencing, and I'm telling him, take your more air mentality site thinking and shove it; I'm not changing my art for no one. So much laughing collecting passwords, sending in that futile move. Ban #57.
