And hey Wolf, man, don't ever be anything but proud to have been willing to put your work into a machine to make it run perfect and be willing to make someone a solid honest good deal on a great bike. You were in my area I would have snapped it up and proudly ridden the wheels off her! You got the right attitude bro! Mad respect. I can't wait to see Veridis all buttoned up!

Well, that is a nice looking lil' 9 there but I gotta ask? Why do you have PR3's (?) on it?

Did you get it with that rubber? Not that PR's aren't great tires but on a track bike or fast commuter, I would think Power 3's a better choice.

BTW, my Power 3's on the ZX are still going strong after half a season and about 3-4 thousand miles! They stick very well and they have worn much better than I ever expected. Come in the 55 profile as well for the rear tire. I couldn't be happier with them.

Yes, yes, I know I ride like a lil' girl (but you don't know that so I will tell you, LOL) even though and honestly the Power 3's really have lasted very well and I don't have to replace them yet.

Don't want to hijack this thread so I'll sign out now; but I am curious as to your choice (?) of tire on the 9.

Cheers!

Hey. Paul, I had a set of PR3's. Kicking around so I mounted em. They were on my 14 for about 600 km. The bike had a worn set of PP's. Flat in the middle with. Chicken strips.

Rooker, thanks dude!

I was about to poke a little fun at the chicken strips on the PR3s and then I just remembered I have like 500 miles on my fresh Shinkos and still have big strips on them. Lol! But I have a good excuse, it's been cold and there is/was, I haven't rode in a couple weeks, sand everywhere.... Naw, I just ride like pussy. Hahaha!!!

Hey Corn,
Those tires need a proper thrashing. They have seen little to no abuse. And I agree once the weather warns the asphalt and the road sand is clear...wholly motha will those chicken strips narrow. But to be completely honest I have never worn down the tire close to its edge. I'm usually an inch to the end. Something I need to work on. Lol

Hey alligator I saw that Gen 1. She is a needle in the haystack.

We have a bike builder in Ontario, a straight up talent who takes totaled zx 14's and places them inside new rollers and sells them as stock bikes. My boy Beast bought one last year. That was bought for low tens.
What a deal though if it's a bike that was barely ridden.

I've learned to type up my long tirade, then walk away for a while, and re-read it before I post it. I usually end up deleting it, and then feeling relieved that I didn't post it. I wish I could do that in real life.

Hey man can't see what you do to the zx9. I had a '99 that I lusted for just like my zx14 when the came out. Finally got a pristine candy blue one in 2002 with 3500 miles on it with fully muzzy system, factory race jet kit, muzzy timing advance, put -1 +2 gearing on it and rode the hell out of it. Hard her up until 2012. Sold her in 2013 with over 80k miles on here and still running strong. She did go thru a few different mods and paint jobs..tho.
Heres a pic of her with my other other girls

Couple of other easy mods can to to update here is get a swing are and wheel off of a 2000 plus that way way you can put a 190 or larger tire on her. Older ducati single sided swing arm will work on her too for something really different.

Blk I dig those ladies... Whot!
I sold the zx 9r to seed a zx 14 project. I sunk about 4800 in her. A woman left a dp of 500, she never came to collector and then I sold her for 4500. So all told 5000 bucks. Great bike, the 9r shifts smoother than my 14 and she was a nimble mount, enjoyed her thoroughly I did. I even let Beast ring her out.

The 14r project comes home today.

Keep the shiny side on the right side baby!
Mad Love,
W

That's cool.

I would run that brake line over the top of the swingarm rather than under. Less chance of it snagging something off the road.

I'm not sure what to think about the shaved signals... I'm on the fence about it now that I see... But either way I don't care, I still fucking love the shaved signals cause its different and makes your bike uniquely different from everybody else's bike!
