Best frame sliders? I looked at the militant bars but don't think I can handle those. I know some on here have LSL or Yoshimura ... Anyone ever heard of Trex? Just happened upon the while googling my arse off.
I searched the forum and didn't find anything about them. They even have a a full bike set front/back wheels and frame kit? trex full kit

I like the look of them but have zero experience with the brand.

I suppose it all depends on how they mount.

yeah that goes back to the Militant bars. Very similar. I don't think I could hang those off my bike.

I'll have to check out the Shoguns... forgot all about them.

You know I wish we had a "Thanks" button we could click for each helpful person on here, like they have some sites...however some of you will have to be stopped by a Run Rule as to not make the rest of us feel bad LOL... you know everyone gets a gold star sort of thing? (/yack) LOL

I opted out of sliders. I feel like the mounting solution will do more harm than good (broken frame tabs) in a drop.

With gap insurance and a $250 deductible, I'm not too worried about crash damage.

I had the same thought originally too, I have gap and a $1000 deductible... Never figured I would have to use it. Been riding since I was 8 and never needed my insurance. I have needed to replace little things on my bikes in the past. Especially my dirt bikes and a mirror on my VTX once years a go....

Insurance as you brothers know is there when we need it. Sucks to use but it is our safety net. I got sliders because I have little kids and I know she will eventually experience a tip over.

I have never had sliders on any of my bikes, do they really save the side fairings from getting messed up ? Seems like they would still get scratched ? I don't know just asking ....
But yea, I always felt like it would be my luck that I would break my engine mounts! instead of just messing up the sliders, just my 2 cents, gents !

Frame sliders would not have saved mine from the damage she received when I went sliding down the highway. Only thing I think would have happened if I had some would have been a lot of unessecary stress on the engine mounts. My damage was way less than yours too bro. A straight fall is way flipping harder than a nice slide down the blacktop.

All that said, this is the only bike I've had that didn't have sliders. I'm a big proponent of them, just not the way they mount to the 14R.

Friend dropped his 14 and the sliders broke his engine mount bracket and also caused his head to start leaking.

So sliders can do more harm than good in some situations.

Yeah, I been looking at how they mount. I'm not gonna use any.
