Ecu Flashing
02/22/21 4:32 AM

Been considering buying Woolich flashing products or FT ecu editor instead of sending my ecu's off to have them flashed by a tuner. My biggest hurdles is really no one in my area has a powersports dyno to seen any results. Does any 1 have input or suggestions?

If you don't have a Dyno, you will be doing a lot of tuning runs which are very risky. Think of holding the throttle at 20% until the bike stops accelerating. That's about two miles probably and you're doing maybe 120ish the last half mile. You will need to repeat the run at least two more times depending on how many samples/second the Woolich system takes. I felt safer doing the large throttle positions where you hit top speed in 13-20 seconds. That's what you'll need to do if you want to tune your whole map or else go to a LSR event which will cost about another $1000. It will take some study before you understand how Autotune works. You will need to find out what the safe timing adjustments are. If you don't already have this knowledge, you have yourself a whole new hobby. If you're not into all of that, sending your ECU in looks pretty good. Throw the bike on a trailer and take a road trip if you need to know the dyno results. You won't get dyno results tuning it yourself anyway.
