That quickshifter really made a difference in your shifts. In your video 20 - 176 (I believe it was called) your speedo actually went backwards a little during your last two shifts, but with the quickshifter it was nothing but constant acceleration.
I went to the HM quickshifter site and they are a bit pricey but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for".

Skewed that is awesome, can I ask how much for that set-up and where did you get it. Thanks
I paid $654.88 and I bought it from http://hmquickshifter.com/ (they are located in England). I paid for it using PayPal (it made me feel safer). They have an American representative named Mary Matthews who ships and packs up all the stuff in America and she is located in Denver Colorado and her phone number is: 720 519-3343. She is very helpful and knowledgeable.
I had a local shop in Fort Myers, FL called Superbikes and Skis install the shifter and they charged me $75 (not bad)

That quickshifter looks way better than that piece of crap that dynojet sells where you have to drill through the shift lever and the sprocket cover and I hear it is very hard to tweak the dynojet shifter to get it to work right. Nice Vid.

Wow! If you got the "HM quickshifter Plus Lever" (no rearsets needed) for $510, you got it for a steal! Congrats!.
My sensitivity is set to 50% and my kill time is set to 65ms.

When order directly from HM in the UK the price will vary depending the exchange rate is for that day.
Constantly checking the exchange rate you can get it for a decent price.

Yup, HM makes a very high quality item. I have had my HM shifter for a few years now and can't imagine not having it. My only issue has been when I make "a lazy shift" and it misses (I can count the number of times that has happened on my hands luckily).... I hope you enjoy it and it serves you well.

CRAP something else I "need"
Never used a quickshifter: Can you still shift manually?, and just quickshift during an occasional blast? Can it be installed by a regular dude like me, with some tools and some logic abilities? Or special tools / knowledge needed?

I watched the mechanic install mine. It took him about an hour in all. The hard part he said was getting to two of the plug coils, he used very long needle nose pliers (they were about 18 inches long).
Yes, I only use the quickshifter when I want a major blast. 90% of the time I just drive it as normal.
Cheers,

Damn that looks and sounds smooth as glass banging through the gears with the HM Quickshifter!
It also looks like there is a slight delay in the gear indicator when you switch gears. Not that it matters. I may have to get this.

Ok, here are some things I have recently learned about the HM Quickshifter Plus Lever. If she breaks traction, DO NOT TRY TO USE THE QUICKSHIFTER! When she breaks traction the rpms instantly jump inside the redline and traction control kicks in (I keep mine in Full Power Level 1) and she will mis-shift. This happened to me about 10 times in the last two days. I was beginning to think my quickshifter was bad. When she hooks just right--like in the video, she shifts smooth as butter. She shifts perfect with the factory settings between 8.5k and 11k but any other range and she will either lurch, not shift at all, or mis-shift. So keep that in mind.
My back tires kept losing traction, so obviously I suspected them (I use the Shinko Hookup on rear) BUT while they were definitely worn down I could still see small grooves in the tread pattern BUT I still suspected that they were the culprit, so I went out one last time and she even broke the tires loose around 7k rpm in 3rd, I said to myself, "Either this bike has gained 100 hp or my rear tire has to be bad".
Once I got home, the evidence was staring me right in the face:
You can see the threads showing!
I only got 1000 miles out of this tire. When they are new, they hook like crazy, but once you wear them down they are completely useless.

Good observations. do you think it's the engine speed over redline that causes the shift to miss? Is the rpm too high for the gears to engage in 65 mls?
Yes, I definitely believe the main culprit for mis-shifts are going into the red-line. The factory settings assume that the rider is going to make timely shifts in the right range. One reason I added the shift light is if I whack the throttle and the shift light comes on instantly or near that then you know for a fact she has broke the back tire lose and DON'T use the quickshifter. If you're in a race when this happens, your only option is to clutch it into the next gear or abort the race.
