Better Brake pads over stock?
04/17/17 2:51 PM

Has anyone done or found a better set of brake pads for the 14r? I added stainless steel brake lines front and rear and that was a nice help, but would still like to have more braking capability.

So, was wondering if anyone has installed a better set front and rear and can really feel any improvement over stock?

I went with EBC's.It's hard to tell really imo if another brand 'works' better. You probably won't be doing any stoppies anytime soon. The 14 is a heavy bike, relatively. You want reliability and performance..I do anyway. The factory pads are okay.I've got abs on mine,so yeah,it's hard to tell if mine are actually 'better' than the factory's.Probably,if they are,not by much.

I didn't notice any dif using EBC HH sintered pads but they were not squeaky at low speed like OEM. Aftermarket lines make no dif to me either.

Glad it's not just me, I'm also running the EBC HH pads, only because that's all I could get at the local shops. They are much more squeaky than the stock pads at slow speeds/light braking.

I haven't noticed a difference but then again, I don't take my bike to the track and don't need to push the brakes to the limit where I would expect to see a difference.
