First of all, it's been a while since I last posted in here, been super busy with school and my shop/work/business that all forms of 2 wheeled fun and action have been halted for like the past 10 months, but, with gas kissing $3.00 a gallon now, and likely to head higher as Summer comes on, I figured I'd get my Zed Sled out from under the dust and get back to business. Thank you B Gordon for your flies, I re-installed them last night with NO problems. As I've read before and continue to support; use a new #2 screwdriver with a magnetic head, LOWE'S has a nice Kobalt one that I used to take 'em out, and put 'em back in.
Now, I know some of you may wonder why I am putting them back in, well, mainly due to gas mileage increase, and, the amount of torque is too much for the street. I've never had an issue with it, but, on wet roads you have to be SUPER careful, more so than on any other machine I've owned, or ridden; ever. Having 100 ftlbs at 4K or lower is too much, KHI knew this, this is why they put them in in the first place. Plus, I am mainly just a to and from work (my shop) rider these days as I have too much work to do, and school that occupies all my extra time I used to dedicate to aimless and fun rides.
I'm keeping stock exhaust, my air filter is filthy, likely get a good one to replace this one, so, my question is I want/need a map that has these parameters embedded in the map for when I reprogram my PCIII. I want it to run a bit richer all over, especially at idle as these 1400 cc engines get hot, and I don't need to worry about any emissions tests here in TX.
My eyes are set on some new suspension as the immediate upgrade, as I've been crowing about for years now, but, as I said earlier, the last 10 months has seen NO ZX activity on my part, the last time I ran my 14 was before Xmas time when I was almost falling off the edge and leaving my wife and starting over out there, taking my bike to my shop for 'storage' until I could figure out what the fook I was doing, and or wanted to do. And, here it is almost mid April! Wow, time is flying on all counts!
Getting back to the .map file(s), I d/l them all from Dynajet, but, the one I want/need wasn't there, remember I want stock pipes, with (likely) K&N filter, and a slight enrichment on bottom end to control the heat from these beasts, especially in the TX summer heat. Kruz, if you read this, write me at www.drblast.com as I know you have a ton of info in that noggin of yours, plus its been a while since we 'shot the shat' -- is Tommy still here in town? If so, I'd love to know how to contact him.
From the dyanjet PCIII interface and graph contained on the CD, it looks like a map can be created with little trouble if you know where to put the -number variables and +number variables and to the corresponding RPM and Throttle position, but, I don't really care to do that as I'm not racing, and when I get a new/good/adequate Map I'll settle on that until I either get fed up with the 06/07 weak power -6K RPM, or go to a TRE or some other device, but, with nearly 180 HP there to tap into, the adage there is no replacement for displacement is so true.
Oh yeah, Hello Hub you doosche bag! I can't avoid ribbing you, glad to see you still frequent here.
