06 Akrapovic mufflers onto 08 Header

Hi all,
I'm a newbie just bought my 08 in midnight sapphire black but have ridden one for years in work. Could do with a bit of advice please. I have bought a set of Akrapovic slip ons with link pipes cheap but they are from an 06/07 bike, I know that the headers are a larger diameter on my 08, so my question is, is there any easy way to make them fit with reducers or will I need the headers from an 06/07 bike, would they fit with different gaskets or does akrapovic use gaskets at all?

I know its reversed but it may give you an idea or two...

I tried to search the forums for a solution to my problem, I just don't know if the Akrapovic from the 06/07 use the oem gasket at the header it doesn't show this in the install instructions, also should I sleeve the header end, change the headers as I have cats in the 08's or I can get some 08 Akro link pipes and then sleeve the muffler end?
I'm after the best route to go down

By the way Yannih those yoshi's look amazing, wish I could have found some nice ones, I've ended up with some Akro SP cans
