I'd like to add a rear grab bar to my '12. Is it standard on the Euro spec bikes, or an accessory?
I believe the "kit" includes the grab bar and also a new plastic piece for the tail?

Does anyone know if I can get the parts here in the states? Or could I pay someone in Europe or Oz to get me a set?

Hank, Kawasaki does offer a rear grab rail for the North American market. They refer to it as a 'tailgrip kit' and the part number is: 99994-0341-XXX. The last three digits will be placed based on the color code of your bike. For example, I have a green model so my part number is 99994-0341-40R. My apologies but I have not researched any other color codes.

Based on illustrations I've seen, the tail grip for the North American market may not have the bobbins on the side of the grip. It may just be a plain loop. I work frequently in Europe and I hope to get the part number for the European tail grip on my next trip for comparison. If need be, I'll place my order for a European tail grip in order to get the more useful rail.

Looks like the Black kit PN is 99994-0341-660 if anyone else is looking!

I to am interested in the grab bar. A google search for the black kit, part number, shows a range of pricing from $150 - $200. Besides the grab rail and hardware, an different back piece.

From what i've seen and read, I don't think the grab rail will work with the seat cowl. Would like to add a grab rail and run the seat cowl. Maybe with some mods?

Don't forget to order the bolts because they do not come with the handle. Yes on the plastic short tail part needed. No on the usage of the cowl with the handle unless you want to whack the end of the cowl off, then it would not look so good when you used the cowl alone. When I want to run my bike with the cowl, I use the stock setup and If I want to carry a passenger I use my Corbin seat with the passenger grab bar. The stock seat is really comfortable. After almost 50,000 seat miles the Corbin seat is still really firm. I forget what I paid for the grab bar and plastic part but I got them from Chaparral.

I saw the parts catalogue at my local dealer and it is only a loop, no bobbins. I would like to get the UK version and the little popout arms that are under the seat. Anyone in the UK want to trade for a blue cowl ;-)

This is a Genuine Kawi Grab Handle for the 14R . Looks like part of the bike when installed. Perfect fit. On and off in minutes. Solid Mount. If you ever ride two up this is your ticket. Not sure what else I can say ????? It's brand new and is for sale. I should have taken a picture with it installed. If you want pic could do it tomorrow ?

I paid $175US for the OEM passenger grab handle kit at Fay Myers in Denver. It doesn't allow use of the tail pod. I use it to stabilize the bike while lifting with the Pit Bull rear stand and also as the rear attachmnent for homebuilt pannier and top racks.

I needed to carry a tailpack on weekend trips, so I purchased the grab bar,bobbins, and plastic behind the grab bar from a Kawasaki dealer in the UK. With the currency conversion it was a little painful ($387 shipped) but worth it to me.

I also was lucky enough to find the folding luggage hooks on Ebay from a wrecked bike in Australia for about $80. I had to dremel the holes in the plastic to mount these and the rear seat cowl will fit over them keeping them hidden until I mount the grab bar and need use the tail pack or cargo net.

The UK spec rear grab handle comes in 3 parts, the 2 luggage bobbins are priced seperately at £16 each!! I contemplated buying the rear seat cowl until I realised you had to lose the grab handle and luggage hooks. A no brainer IMO, they're far more useful.
