Check your nuts
10/13/15 9:17 PM

Heads up everyone..

While working underneath the bike, found one oil pan bolt missing. The pan had some oil residue, but dont think much leaked out. Some other bolts needed to be torqued as they were getting loose. So went thru the entire bike and found some more loose bolts. It is probably a good idea to make an inspection, especially if you have an older bike.
Need to buy a thread locker - I resorted to JW weld for the pan bolts just enough to have peace of mind.

I've seen that type of scenario happen in the past with
engines that have run Dino oil for an extended period of
time and then switch to synthetic oil. Seems to play havoc on
gaskets. All of a sudden pan bolts are loose/missing, valve covers
start leaking etc. and usually end up replacing gaskets and re-torquing everything.

Oil pan bolts require no thread locker and only 87 in-lbs torque.

If I find my oil pan bolts loose/missing, I'd replace the
oil pan gasket and torque bolts properly.

In a pinch when you can't find any thread locker, borrow the wives nail
polish, works good in a pinch. Specially bright red with sparkles

A sure way to have loose, incorrect or missing nuts and or bolts on any section of your bike is to simply take it to your local dealer.
They will inevitably allow an apprentice to do the work who doesn't give two craps about re assembly and Bob's your uncle...

I usually check all of mine once/year. I initially found some that were loose but I don't recall finding any loose after that.

Bob's your uncle...

...And Bob's your uncle is an expression of unknown origin, commonly used in Great Britain and Commonwealth countries. Typically, someone says it to conclude a set of simple instructions, similar to the French expression "et voilĂ !".

I have an Uncle Bob.......and you're right, yannih, anything having to do with Uncle Bob should pretty damned obvious..and usually not real good either.

I heard synthetic oil will make your hair turn gray and cause you to require viagra to get a boner.

Ok..ok..I can see where this is going, so here is a link to what may be of slight relevance
HA..HA...

Now that you've seen the vid, here is a true story of little relevance..

I've met a GILF a few years back and we went on a few dates. By the third date, I am expecting for us to do the deed and from the feedback she is giving me, the light has turned green. Not wanting to disappoint my angel, I have a special surprise. Now, I'm travelling and have a trailer for my home, so I promptly excuse myself and rush inside to pop a vitamin V, but only take half and leave the rest on a table. So we are getting intimate and she says, "I like to be on top of a man, or I like a man to be on top of me." Then I said, "And..And.." So she tells me "And that is it...period" After that I got very confused and proceeded to bend her over. All systems are working and I'm going to town. Just as I'm ready to cross the finish line, she turns around and says, "Is that a VeeeeAgraa I see in front of my face?" Again, I got very confused. While I was having the time of my life, she used that moment to explore her surroundings and my secret has been exposed. That certainly killed the mood, but vitamin V kept on working so I kept on working too enough to cross the finish line twice that evening.
Moral of the story is, I've gone back to Dino oil and now use "Just for men" hair color.

I'm all about performance enhancement so I stick with synthetic and just shave my head. If a girl can't get my motor started on her own, I figure it's up to her to spend the $50 on the little blue pill and up to me if I'll take it.
