Sportech VFlow Windscreen
03/18/13 8:55 AM

Does anyone have one on their 14? I was thinking of either the chrome red vflow, or just getting the smoke vflow. I'm not sure how the reds would clash, or if it would be close to the candy red of 2010. I had one on another bike in the past and the quality was good. Does anyone have one on now and could comment on the fit and colour?

Thanks,
Matt

I would NOt suggest you buy this.

Notice there is no step in the edge like the OEM screen has. It will not sit flush to your fairing. Looks fine from a distance but it would drive me nuts up close and I am sure it would create some kind of undesirable aerodynamics if you are into performance.

I just put a Yana Shiki screen on my 14 and that is how I discovered the problem. I will try to dremmel a step down in that to make it fit properly. Might as well cuz it's goin' in the trash can if I can't. Only thing good about the Yana Shiki is that it was cheap. $40. That Vflow is a nice shape but $82 for screen that will fit like is not a good deal IMHO.

My Puig Racing DB fits as good as OEM.

Get the Puig double bubble. Very good aero and fit.

The Puig is wind tunnel tested and it sure does fit nicely. My feeling is all double bubbles make the already big looking top fairing look BIGGER. To me, they look top heavy with a DB. That is why I got the OEM replacement Yana Shiki. It was the only OEM replace, ment that I could find in blue. OEM screen looks best IMO. That Vflow looks kind of in between. It is very deceptive how big they look if all you se is the screen. You really need to see pics of them on a 14.

Interesting comment on the DB making the front look heavy. I bet you're right.
Perhaps i should just leave the stocker on then....
or the Puig non DB?

What do you want...looks...or comfort while carving? That top screen isn't for a 14 anyway...that's representative of the "sportech" V flow.I had one...it fit the 14 nicely.Didn't keep it on there though...I switch around somewhat depending...on what I feel that day.Sometimes...the factory feels really good.Other times...I want a more 'blocking' flow on me.Just depends. The Sporttech was okay...hell...they're all about the same really...except Powerbronze...fitment was....lousy.They should have had it down by now.

I've got the Zero Grav Sport Touring on mine now...It's a tall one....but it will serve a purpose...for now. When it warms up...I'll probably change er out again...I've got several different styles here.DB is very nice..from MRA.

The MRA 'spoilerscreen' is a good one...just depends.

I don't think Puige has an OEM replacement.

Hot Bodies makes one in dark smoke. Don't know how that fits.

Hey grn14 do you have any pics with it on your bike?
Rook - you are right, I don't think they offer a stock replacement
Hot Bodies does as you say - their "SR" (stock replacement) screen.
I may just go ahead and order that one in a dark smoke.

It's gonna look a tad odd....but it works very well at channeling the airflow over the helmet and such.First...MRA Double Bubble....

Zero Gravity Sport Touring screen......actually...it looks fine on there...IDK why it looks more "obvious' on the Gen 1's...but it seems to follow the new bike's style very well.

Come Summer....I'll most likely switch back to the stock screen...it seems to offer the best aerodynamics of any of em.There is a 'spoilerscreen' made by MRA...the UK 'accessories'...has it listed in there for the 2011's...maybe the 2012's also...but the fitment is the same....virtually stock looking except for a curled 1 to 2 inch lip along the trailing edge...nice...I have one...it works okay as well.

Zero Grav also makes the SR....I guess it just depends on where you want the windblast to hit ya....these will raise it very nicely to stop buffeting....stock's not bad at that either.

The Hot Bodies screens seem to always be pictured on the bike. I would do some investigation before buying. You want to make sure whatever screen you get has the step down so it will match up flush with your top fairing. ...or just get a Zero Gravity if you like SR.

If you find a good SR that is blue, let me know, please.

Sorry , after re-reading I see I entered the wrong info.
It's Zero Gravity with the SR series, not Hot Bodies... my bad.
I'm looking for one now in the dark smoke, and I'll have an eye for a blue one too
And, I wish the weather would frig off already too....

Hot Bodies makes a OEM replacement also. Never saw a pic of it off the bike so IDK if it has the stepdown or not.

found this Puige Standard ZX-14 dark smoke.

or the Zero Gravity should work just as good.

Would look HOT on your red 2010 with the black grills. for an extra $10, I'd go with Zero Gravity or Puige cuz we have confirmed reports that they both fit nice. It's such a PITA to have to do major reworks to get your mods to fit. Always go with what the crowd demands. Works every time. Money saver often cost a lot in time + tools, etc.

My only gripe is that the fake carbon fiber look is wearing off at the center back of the tank. Also it is starting to develop a small crack on each side at the edge where it makes that tight radius into the center round shape that forms the top.

See post #4 on this thread.

I plan to stick some Tech Spec on there this summer for sport riding. I'll cover all with my old vinyl bra for touring if I see the paint dulling between chunks of Tech Spec

Great, thanks very much.
I put the rascal graphix zx-14 tank pad on the bike, but the red clashed with the bikes colour, so I took it off. I am trying to figure out if i need one or not. I've lost alot of weight so my gut isn't hanging on the bike like it was lastyear....

Gut or no gut, if you wear leather against any paint it will scuff up right away. I even have a slight mark in the frame paint from my ankles. It's not hard to polish out the scuff but I would worry about rubbing throughthe clear coat at some point.

So the plastidip is a spray on affair? Like a spraybomb? Never heard of it... I should look it up.

yea the plastidip was made for tools years ago.its a big deal now in the car scene from spraying ur rims to companys making a whole kit to plstidip ur car in dif colors for cheap. its like a rubber coating that takes the abuse of whatever weather and all. then if ur tired of it, it just peels off no harm no foul. u can get it online or hardware stores for the can spray.
