OMG>>>OMG>>>>>OMG>>>OMG!

WTF greenie are you crazy? Oh yeah, I guess so. Well I'm very proud if I contributed at all to your mental problems. I'm suffering from the same problem. Call it, "Ohlinsophenia." The only cure is extreme poverty of whicjh the Rookster has an abundance of at the moment. However I heard there are these things called balance transfers that your wonderful credit card is happy to let you take advantage of. They are the only thing that can defeat the cure to Ohlinsophrenia. I'm growing weak.

Thanks Rookster...no...not the hottest....plenty of dialed in 14's on here...I've NO idea what to expect from this....can I install these deals myself? With a steering stem stand?I've once removed the rear shock(kinda)to install some lowering links(on my 07)....that seemed kinda easy....up on the rear stand(and I think I jacked the shock up a bit underneath)????Fronts...on my 07....I lowered the frontend...without a stand however.

Wonder how this bird is gonna roll now?Loved the wheels mod I did....figured I may as well compliment those with a better fork deal.....I did right, yes?I sure as heck hope so;)

Grn, also get front springs or you won't get the full effect of the eye popping difference. You'd be crazy if you didn't match front to rear = Quality.

Congrats Green. They will come set up for your riding style at the factory but my advice would be "don't touch the setting". Just stick a zip tie on the fork tube, ride for a week or two and get somebody reputable to adjust them for you.

I did right,yes?I sure as heck hope so;

oh hell yeah!

I would mess with the settings some day, as long as you record exactly how they were set when you got them, you ought to be able to put them back if you don't like adjustmemnts. I'd leave them alone for now.

Hey throw those puppies on a scale if you can. Weigh the OEM parts to. I'm curious how they compare. The rear shock must be heavier if it is one of those hydrolic adjust on the fly jobs.

Grn, you lucky bastard! How much are we talking for those two items? Are they setting them up for your weight?

How much are we talking for those two items?

Set of fronts is about $2000. Rear is about another 1500.

Green's got some money in that 14r.

that's good. Do it all as quick as you can. Don't wait until the bike is old. Get your use out of the stuff.

RE: I'm crazy

...was gonna just go with the rear...figured...may as well do both;)Any ideas on what I could expect from these?

RR Shock wise, my guess is closer tolerances, better valving (needle taper and that combined hole design meaning), lots more adjustments and a much better seat of the pants feel. If you thought the engine was seat of the pants, wait till the springs and valving sets another pea under you to ponder.

FF Springs wise, the bumps are going to be different. Big fat smile when those go in... You lucky dog. Me? That's 3,500 right back into that puffer if they bring it out and it's quicker still. I'm old school when superbikes wobbled, wouldn't stop, no valving, couldn't steer for shit is ride the piss out of it as is.

WOT you're going to do is (really) spank that bike with that kind of setup. Come back and say... Ahhhh, now I know why they use these for racing. Why I fell so refreshed, like a bar of irush SPRING! I could sit on this all day, I no longer take the production punishment, these take over, I did spend right! Enjoy the... New Seat... I'm almost "jellyUs" (without).

Next thing is you want to dial in the springs first to your weight. Why? Even is the keel. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRKWcIjDrmq_HSZ1lqOm26ulEuPbaAYJpECGvKTS4qXy-2fM-z- Lets call you the keel you sitting right side up. If you squat on the bike, where is the water line as opposed to sitting all even? See why sag would bring the bike back up all even with you sitting on it?

Why? Because think of one sag setting having too much rear drop on the squat. This makes the front light. Fall into a turn, she is going to plow = No weight to hold it down. Having a low sag at the rear is one example. Brock has the generic rear suspension setting with the drag setup. Watch how he pushes down and all that return happening. That's your valving next> after sag.

You are going to take it a step further and stand down hard on the footpeg. Watch the bounce back? If I were to sag, I'd use the drag race setup at the rear. Too bad you didn't get a set of 3 or so front springs at 3 different spring rates: especially in half steps so as to match with a full step. That's more spring combinations to dial in the front.

So for my kind of thinking this out, how could I sag the front with front springs along with the rears? I may want more weight to the front and lower the front with less wind. I may find the front wants its own setting? I may hammer down on the front brakes and I want it stiff so it doesn't dive too deep> if front sag was too plush a setting, meaning. Lots of challenging combos let alone the pitch of the bike cranked over or on the brakes, accelerating, stopping, the sit up riding, etc.

Like Night and Day you'll say. That's what to expect.

Condrads!!! I cant speak for the 14 or the ohlins stuff, but the suspension on my 06 gsxr 750 was revalved and sprung and it was light years better than stock. Bumps in corner's? no probb. Almost nothing would upset the bike at any lean angle unless you were doing something really wrong. The big ol girl should respond well to the suspension upgrade.

Grn, I think for the roads you ride up there, Ohlins at both ends will be a great mod. I'm only going by rumor, but I've heard their racerack heritage makes them a better fit for open, sweeping type turns on relatively smooth roads than they would be for the pothole and gravel-strewn roads we have in the midwest.

My dad always said " tell her the truth first that'll give you time to make up a lie". So when she ask what you spent on your ohlins gear just tell her the truth, then while shes flipping out just laugh a little and tell her some line of bullshit. Trust me it works.lol

Not here yet;)I hope I won't have to.....still not sure about the fender brackets(the ones coming off the rearpart of the lower fork leg). Can't find any pics for the zx14R.The ABS fitting is in one pic I found...and the the guy told me 'yup...these fit the 2012/2013 abs model'...so waiting now with fingers crossed. But haven't found any pics with the center fender bracket going up and back to that fitment part on the fender. The Ohlins info says 'comes with all mounting hardware'...so we'll see.Might be a separate bracket that connects to the fork leg...IDK.

i bet they will fit just fine. looks to me like there was more uncertainty as to whether the new forks would fit the Gen 1. That bike is going to be hotter than ever with those suspensions. Hot on HOT!
