Personalizing Betty
05/31/10 8:47 PM

In the past month, I've added a Flat black grills, Sargents seat, Brocks CT System, PC V, and Vortex Rearsets. She is starting to feel more like mine... I love this bike.

VERY nice! I actually prefer the orange FG's, but to each his own. Eventually I'll replace them with CF. You gotta be bringing down some serious coin to afford those Vortex rearsets... Holy hell... Which fender eliminator is that on the rear?

Thanks loaded... The rearsets were one of the lesser costing mods, found them on EBay for 300. They have a good feel and they look nice also. The more bitter pill to swallow is the the $175 Piazzo levers, hoping someone will pop for them this Friday for my birthday. The FE is made by Targa, very simple kit, comes with an abnormally long LED plate light that I plan to replace with something low profile.

Looking really nice. I was going to get some rear sets but the ZX-14 doesn't quite fit into the 'average track-type sportbike' category. IMHO. But they look nice on your bike.

I customized the heel guard, chromed the support assembly and powdercoated the pegs. But again, rearsets are very cool.

Thanks Hoopie.. I think personalizing our bikes is one of the best aspects of bike ownership.
The screen is a Puig, bought from motorcycle superstore for $80 bucks.

So, to clarify, Sargent made the seat AND the little rubber (?) piece that fits over the cowl lip like that?

The rubber wing piece, transition pad, comes with this seat. Sargent makes two seats, a full seat that you cannot use your rear cowl, and the modular seat, like mine. The reason for the transition pad is that the rear of the drivers seat is taller than the cowl. Without the transition pad, there is an ugly gap between seat and cowl. I elected to go this route because I never take passengers, and I like the look of the rear cowl on the bike. I have since removed the rear passenger pegs and have installed a muffler hanger. The left side of the bike is pretty sparse now, but I think it looks clean.

The thing about our ZX-14's is:

1. There's not a lot of them around.
2. They look good with any most any amount of customizing. I, personally, don't like the super-blinged out show versions, but then, I don't know shit! :)

I agree, it's nice to have a bike that isn't on every other block. I'm doing a group ride next weekend, 3 days, approx., 35 bikes and a 1000mi., of some of the best of northern california, I will be the only ZX14 on the ride. Where are you from Syko?

Very nice bike.
Billet peices are very well priced for the pazzo and vortex parts. Think of the time it took to program and then machine them.

Thanks "00", I am proud of her. More mods to come of course, but not a bad start for the first 90 days. The front fender is coming off this weekend, and a 16t sprocket is on order.I would love to put some BST carbon fiber wheels on her.

Scott... Lottery, I wish! I was going to go cheap on the exhaust but after you bought the Brocks and added the sound clips, I couldn't bring myself to put something "lesser" on the bike. I am very happy with the exhaust, I had concerns over it being to loud, it is the most aggressive exhaust I have ever had on a bkie. In fact, its the only full exhaust, since 1984 when I put a Kerker on my GPZ1100. (yeh, I'm old)

The "bark" from this bitch makes riding her that much more fun. Thanks for the compliment.. more goodies on the way.

Scott, I did buy the baffle or noise supression insert, but it went right into the tool box and I havent seen it since.
Buy the rearsets, you'll like them, and they look good too.

Blue, thank you for the compliments on my bike. The belly pan is the same as previous, I think it is just the angle of the camera. It doesnt look like i ride the thing, but I do, really.
