Wish you didnt?

I was reading one of Hub's post and he states that the more you keep it stock the more you will like it referring to performance upgrades. It got me thinking. Is there any upgrades that you did that you wish you didnt from a performance point? Like was the full exhaust and such realy worth it? Would you rather have that $1000 back? etc..

good question! but in my case I think its more a case of making the bike my own more than performance and the donut shop factor.

Back when I had my R1 i put a Leo Vince exhaust on it. Love it at first, but since I used my bike as a daily driver, I got tired of the exhaut being so loud and ended up regretting the purchase. I told myself when I got my ZX14 that I would leave it stock performance wise. Of course I did small things like upgrading Grips and stuff but I love that the ZX14 had all that power, but was pretty quiet also.

The time I packed with the Harley riders, I was about 3 or 4 hacks deep. It felt great, but when I hooked up with that BM and it was bone stock, I was talking to myself how I was so happy I had this stock to sniff 02 off that benz. Watt does that tell you messing with the engineering.
So, if the GPS dual hacking is any benefit, explain how it drops on the top end or are we back to misleading info?
WATT about that advancer bringing back the loss is regain top end? One website says a gain with their map and PC on their website. Then there is another diary who says the HP drops with a hack?

There is a fine line to tuning and for every one mod are the odds you created 5 problems to solve that one you just did. Think of the MooseTank Lumboxes with a box of ohm resistors trying to remove the CEL on the dash and with a resistor no less is that cat converting Ohm'say WATT say? They have one cat hooking good sniffs and the back cats are pissing over spray cats don't like wet things.

And they called the place, MooseTankMoodeer fuk ears is rude of them was 02 ride dare azz is for modding the obvious loop.

Do not regret any of the upgrades. I love my exhaust and would gladly have spent twice as much, just for the improvement in handling alone, changing the exhaust took 30 pounds off the rear of the bike, the complete Muzzy system weighs a pound less than the stock headpipe does, it sounds great, and it really made a seat of the pants power difference.

The biggest increase for the least money came from the sprockets.

What i'd likely do, if i were to buy a bike for "daily riding"/occasional trips to bikenight:
-1 front sprocket, +2 rear sprocket & speedo healer
BMC or K&N street filter
Pair of slipons, or a relatively quiet full system
Power commander and a DYNO tune.
-MAYBE a quickshifter.

Thats what i'd do, if i were to have a strictly on the road bike. Would give you plenty of power (and gearing, which will make it feel more powerful then it really is) and some of the coffee shop talk. Then of course, some cosmetics, like stripping the decals, aftermarket windscreen, and a few carbon fiber bits.

BUT, i love drag racing. Spent many many dollar bills on this thing, and i love it. Gotta wear ear plugs on the highway when i ride for distances, but its not too bad.
