Not that there are many cars on the road that can do this but still goes top show how how much difference a little boost could make even for a 14r.

20 seconds at WOT, I am sure he is very close to top speed. The bike is all stock. IDK if the speed limiter is disabled.

If not for missing second, he can hang right on the 14r and pass him on the big end. I am truly impressed. Wish I had room for another car and the 2 bikes. Couldn't see driving any of my beautiful toys on our sloppy winter roads.

Seems like the Supra owner in the 2nd video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7fYZFfzb7E) could gear down a little to where his top speed is a little lower & he'd come closer to the acceleration of the ZX ... might be more fun to (almost) keep up with a ZX from the start versus waiting 22 seconds to finally catch up & pass the ZX.

Supra is impressive, wonder how much money he has into it ? still not as fun as a bike, but I am sure it is plenty fun ! bikes are much harder to get going past the 205 mph range money wise, be nice to have a buggati on the autobahn ....

IDK but he is getting 1000 hp out of it. I'm estimating he is doing about 200 if the 14r was doing close to top speed....the rider said he was running at about 10K rpm so that is prolly about as fast a she would go in 6th gear. Perhaps a couple mph under hitting the speed limiter (if that is not disabled). I'd love to see what a little boost would do for that 14r.

I'm glad you posted that Carabuser, some people seem to think that 200 hp gives you 200mph. They manufacturer didn't just pick 186 mph without a lot of thinking. Now the Busa is more aerodynamic than the ZX-14's so you would need a little more for a ZX-14.

About the car, I'm not envious. That ZX-14R was probably stock. With an Alien Head and a reflash, the car wouldn't have been able to come pass before another 3 seconds at least which is more than enough for me. Why race for 3 miles?... Especially when you know that top speed is the only thing a car has on a bike. Add the fact that you're risking more in terms of tickets, jail time etc.
From the light,I can make most street legal car look like they are going backward and by the time something like that would go pass me, I'm already home, waxing the bike! You need too much distance to enjoy a car, with a bike 0-35mph or 0-70mph is still fun.

Now if we're talking Bugatti,Lamborghini or some Porches, I'm all over it, those cars are just too sexy but buying an 80k car invest 20 in it and do 200? I think I'll pass.

yes, well you're right carabuser, I'll take my bike any day and yep, drag I have not found more than 1 car that could even stay with me for more than a half second. But damn, sure would be cool to have a machine like that Supra. That's a lifetime car right there. You reach the point with mods that it doesn't matter what kind of updates the manufacturers make then that's the fastest for life.

I have been post whoring, so I might as well chime in! :)) the rapid ascent through third and fourth followed by a quick return to sane speeds on any day is what the 14R gives us in spades! The smooth flawless comfort and engineering gives us the ability to access accleration on a daily basis like all others only dream about. When our days are sprinkled with jaunts to 150+ at the flick of a wrist, we get to exist with a reality that is a little different than others. That car after how much $ can only do one small thing maybe better than the 14R. It is all about rider. As evidenced by this dude:

I'll take the R seven days a week and twice on Sunday. We get to have the fastest accelerating most well put together rocket since man first ran as a part of our everyday.

Off the line, no car can touch the zx14, however, eventually on a straight away we get caught by the large displacement vehicles. No brainer the zx got eaten eventually.

She still is King in my books though.

Did some checking..stock, 6 cylinders, 3 liter engine. About 3500 lbs. ....but I doubt that means much compared to all the work that must have been done on that car.

Forget Lambo's, Ferrari's, Corvette's etc..etc, this thing will crap on a 14R from the lights, through the bends ahead and on into the middle distance. It's open too so you'll get wet when it rains, just like a bike!

Only 25 V8s will be built and despite an asking price of £124,850 plus VAT (£146,699), 20 have already been sold. I got my 14R for a smokin deal riding down the road. I will never ever run into an Ariel atom. I think cars are great. When its snowing. Don't get me wrong, I think some cars are cool, they just do not equate to what we have access to everyday with our bikes. To try to get a car close requires almost ridiculous effort and money.

Actually that translates to 300 kph, which is the top speed allowed for a vehicle to be capable of in some european countries. All manufacturers agreed to this limit to be able to sell bikes everywhere, and to prevent government restrictions.
