Here we go with the flies again

IDK how much of this is true. Sounds totally legit. Long time member at BL, 'Wheelie' reports his 2012 14R has flies about 25% open at 7K rpm.

If that is true, can you imagine the power with flies out? I'm sure the bike makes good power below 7K rpm with flies in.

I am happy with the traction control even though it only kicked in a couple of times. Removing the flies will disable the traction control... So what are the options?

2015 30th Anniversary Edition 14R #250-> Brock's CT Ceramic Coated, Ivan's ECU Flash V2 & Map, Block off plates, HM Strain gauge quickshifter, GPR Damper, Spiegler lines, Muzzy's Sliders, Pazzo levers, Rizoma Next Fluid Tanks, DDM Ultra 5500K HID's Low & Hi, DB Windscreen, Cox Radiator guard, gold titanium bolts... too many to list at this point

Contact Guhl, Dynatronics, and/or ECUnleashed... bet they're looking for owners for ecu flash... first few usually get it free.

The 14r pulls strong with the secondaries in, it's nothing like the 06, but I want as much low rpm horsepower as I can get. Just because they seem to open slowly doesn't mean it's weak lol.

Of that there is no doubt, Can't wait to try one. None here yet.

it's nothing like the 06,

Yikes, could you imagine.

but I want as much low rpm horsepower as I can get

Wheelie when you taking them out ? Testing purposes of course lol Can't wait to read your report.

Just because they seem to open slowly doesn't mean it's weak lol.

IF the secondaries are actuated at the throttlebodies as the previous ones...then the stacks don't really 'know' whether they're open or not, yes?I'm just guessing here.So removing them wouldn't actually affect the Ktrc would it?I mean..the actuator shaft would still be thinking they're in there, right?IDK.And if so,then I would think that the KTRC would just 'react' quicker in certain instances...but not actually cause any performance problems...yes?So you could 'probably' get the low end punch...just quicker and the Ktrc would respond accordingly IF the wheel broke loose or something?Unless of course, the fuel/air mix is being monitored for a certain throttle position...set in the ECU and all. Then,it may not help to remove em?I mean, you punch the throttle in first or whatever...get your preset fuel going(for whatever that position is),and now an addition of more air before 7000...would the ECU 'see' that and try to correct it?IDK.

if you want them out, remove the fairings so you have quick access to the airbox, ride around and get the bike hot, this will loosen the locktite, use a "quality" #2 screwdriver, preferably a J.I.S screwdriver pressing down firm and make very slight turns.

it spins on the street where it didn't before, I'm happy, now if I can find the coil wires on the ecu, not the same color as a Gen 1, air shifter waiting.

Pipe dream... unless you have a Busa.

Still gonna need a PC to tweak fuel... and if that's the case, might as well put on a WB2... but if I had a 14r, I'm fairly certain I could get flash and dyno time on the house for being the guinea pig... That toy I brought home a couple weeks ago... that came from my tuner.

Apparently from what I read..the Ktrc is actuated by a combination of wheel movement and ignition timing.I'm not sure(at all)that fuel mix has anything to do with the actual Ktrc system. The earlier models gained punch from the extra air available without the plates blocking it,right? So isn't this the same deal?IDK.If so,then the mix will come in sooner, like the early ones. The Ktrc doesn't do anything UNTIL it reads a traction problem. That's what I get out of it anyway.Mapping down low might be necessary to get the full benefit of fly removal...just like the early ones?

That avatar is an earlier model. Not a 2012.Wheelie mentioned 'spins on the street'....I guess it will if the Ktrc is turned off.
