New ZX-14 owner Sewell, NJ

Hello Everyone,
I just purchased an 08 Metallic Midnight Sapphire Blue left over ZX-14 about 3 weeks ago. I also own an 02 Blackbird, which I am selling after purchasing the ZX. I absolutely love the ZX. It's definetly an improvement over my Blackbird.
I'm interest in doing some performance mods. I have already purchased a full system Muzzy M-14 exhaust with a PCIII. I noticed that it back fires a little on decel. Does anyone have any input on this? Other than that I love the system it definetly makes a difference in sound and power.
I was considering changing the front sprocket from 17 to 16 teeth. Does anyone have any input on this?
Sam

First and foremost

I noticed that it back fires a little on decel.

This bike will will back fire at 38 to 3500 rpm on decel . Do not be alarmed. This is the ECU fuel cut and is normal.(I HATE IT )This is easily fixed.

Let chain stretch guide you. 16F/43R is the drag racers choice... Try one tooth down in the front to begin your Quest and work your way to the oh my god ZONE. 17F/44R and 17F/45 are my personal favs. These will require a longer chain. 43 rear is what it should have came with IMHO. Your back tire will not like you but believe me it's worth it. Cheers.

Hey Romans,
Thanks for getting back to me so fast. The backfiring does bother me so how can I fix it?

As for the sprocket I just want to go one down in the front, so the bike will wake up a little faster. How can I get in touch with chain stretch to get some more guidedence?

If you are only going down one in the front(16)chain stretch will not be a issue. If you are going more than two up in the back you will need some room. Make sure the marker is at least on the third bar.
