Beast- I will be passing through on aug 8th for a bite and a run with you guys most definitely!!! I wouldn't travel on the Nasty Cruzr 1000 miles to Toronto in one day and not at least go for a short ride and a bite with y'all!!! But mostly I am passing through to meet up with Wolf and Dave for the ride out to Bear Mountain!!! That is if Canada will allow me to cross over the boarder.

I'm sure your bike could benefit from some timing advance, as well as top speed limiter removal. I had the flash done on my Gen 1 too, and it was a drastic difference - mind you my flies were in - from what I've read ... flies in makes a few more ponies up top - smoother flow.-ZX14Beast

The ATRE has already removed the timing retard in the first three. When I wind it out in first, the front comes up like an old H-1! I am getting 40 mpg loaded and 43 without the bags etc, mostly at 80-90 mph. No idea what the top speed is and not sure I really want to find out.

The ATRE has already removed the timing retard in the first three.

There is no timing retard in the first three gears. What is controlled is the Fly opening rate. This is grouped 1,2 Map 3,4 Map & 5,6 Map. The TRE008 will give you the fastest fly opening 5,6 Map, But,,,, only opens fully at 7500 RPM. Also cost you the gear position display. Now we can see exactly, No more guessing. This is just info thought you guys might like to know.

Romes...can you tell us where you set your fly opening rpms(the percentage)in the throttle application say,in first?Mine was set by Ivan to open 'sooner'...but that doesn't cover much...I'm curious as to how much power would be delivered with a low rpm 'fly opening fully' situation.PM me if you wish...it's a pretty open question I know.I don't want to remove mine...but I also want to get the most out of my engine response since I have the big bird. She wants to loft really fast at just at 6K....I have to let up once she starts climbing. It's very quick. But I can't seem to get her to loft below 6K....she gets light...but no lift till then.I may be throttling her incorrectly for it...IDK....that's a rolling run...not too fast in speed....1st gear.IDK where Ivan set my opening rpms at.....but at 6k and on up...I really have to watch out...she lofts so damn hard and fast....breathtaking really.

I would like to have immediate and strong power as close to 'just off idle' as possible. Not that this Ivan flash doesn't perform...it does...very nicely. But I keep feeling like there's more bottom end available....

Shit Grn, bone stock right now and in first gear I can roll on a wheelie under 6 grand. If I'm running hard with it pinned the front end will suddenly shoot to the moon when the tach hits 6500.

RE: Before And After Flash

Well...I haven't really tried too much to experiment with the lofting straight outta first....from idle.BECAUSE of what you say exactly. At 6K...this bird literally JUMPS to life...front end coming up hard and fast..TC 'off".I don't want her to flip...so I back off just a bit...but I KNOW full throttling at that point would be a disaster.I don't intend to wreck my bike....I'm still learning...she's an amazing machine....that's for sure.

"I can roll on a wheelie under 6 grand"...I know...she gets light anywhere from 5 to 6K very quickly.Speed of throttle application really makes the difference.I try to run up to the limiter(on mine,12,500)and shift into the next gear. When I run like that anyway.

She can create a dicey situation real fast though....under the right conditions;)

"If I'm running hard with it pinned the front end will suddenly shoot to the moon when the tach hits 6500."...yep...that's what I mean.I 'can't' keep her wide open throughout that range...no way. It's just too damn quick and strong...it just keeps lifting;)So I ease up just enough to keep the r's climbing...and on up to the next shift.Once the forward velocity 'catches up' where the power is manageable...then I open her up(almost) all the way to the stop. After that...it's all over...she's rollin at WAY high triple digits and climbing fast...the road goes away pretty quick...and I have to let up for that next curve.Never seems to be enough pavement to let er loose all the way...though I try at times. There's a few places I can 'drag race' her...and keep going....but only a few.

The first time it happened it scared the shit outta me! I didn't know it would do that.

Yes he does! And if ur limiter is set at 12500 that might be a tad high? No?

Well...I really don't know if it's 'too high'....I don't hit it all the time...but sometimes when I'm powering up hard through the gears...it limits...so it's hitting it.All the 'flashers' offer to raise the limiters by 500 or so.There is usable power up there...as opposed to the 1st gens that fall off at 11K.That redline goes all the way to 13K....I don't know if a 'mid setting' will harm it?

Yeah, I see a lot of flashes to 11000 or 11500. Not too many past that without comp I thought! But I just don't know. Don't even have a flash yet myself!
