Hey Grn? Let us go over this step by step. Lets use this thread, your posts. You said, you don't care what others assumed, you did not present it that way. See, I took it the way you said it. There is no, 'my green is faster than your bla'; where I was reading? I took it as you said it. Don't add me to that group you are clustering together.

And another thing; you took my abs as a dis? No, I said, Grn, you are missing out, you gotta try this. I think if we went to eat something, I could match what you eat, you could not match mine. This was more a coaxing you trying raw fish for the first time or some prez that does not like a certain veggie? Are you food picky?

And no, I will not match your high flying runs, because I do not have that type terrain to practice it [as well] as you. Same as if someone asked you to drift the bike around cones or pop a few in the weeds. I doubt you could do that, right?

Here at 'campiss is in the snow,' eye sea said the blindid by the sun. Grn? YOu DA MaN!

I agree Kruz it's only a bike I mean I just don't feel the need to conform to peer pressure with fender removal and such. That aside I am mulling over the unusable power tbis bike will have rendering it no faster in many cases than our old overpowered bikes. Most of the time now first gear I can't use full throttle until over 8000 or so rpm. I think from over 100 mph it will pull away for sure. I do like the TC idle speed control lighter wheels better controls but I'll just wait till someone has one a couple years and sells a like new one.

Looking forward to seeing in the flesh!Boy O boy

Grn14 settle mate in a perfect world With lots of $$$$$$$$$$$ I would have a stable like Kruz"s starting with the next a ZX1400r but I cant !yes your bike is a more potent ZX14 than previous ZX14's I guess whats been taken out of context is you said ya only had 10 minutes bro & ya should know it takes quite a bit of time to really know how she is ! tell ya one thing though mate IMO it would be foolhardy to say the new one will leave the pre-ones for dead as i'm sure there are many "differant" skilled riders that would leave me for dust as they are even more mad/bad/younger/or plainly pure "Natural riders" on "other" bikes Kruz is proberly right that once the novalty wears off they are all basicaly just "bikes" Straight line quick, twisty killers, cruiser comfortable, long distant tourers but like the wind grn14 in time someone maybe BMW/Suzuki/Aprilla/Ducati/Yamaha or Honda will come along & "up" the antie in the end bro "good for you" I hope it serves you very well over the next 4 years or so

For 1 3/4 Years IMO I Still love my Big Red ZX1400 Heaps HEAPS!!!

Yo Hub... I think yer the only one here that actually sees what the heck I was sayin in all my postings about my bike. And no,I really didn't take your ABS thing as a dis.Your statement was straightforward...and it got straight to the point..."have you ever ridden an abs bike?"...that's what you said.I can relate to that. No,I never had ridden an abs bike.So how in the heck could I base my 'argument' on a 'no experience' foundation?Got me thinking about my position.Had to change my mind.I wasn't pissed or anything.

I can see that me being upbeat and stoked about this new 14 is not gonna set well....people are takin my words out of context...turning them into something else.I won't go on about it.You know I like to 'review' in my own dumb way stuff I get or do here.I don't know what it is about me that people seem to dislike...but I'm honestly not feeling like I'm 'better' at anything towards any of the members here.

Who can argue that the zx is probably the smoothest motorcycle out there. It's pretty much known that it is.It would be ridiculous to throw dirt at that fact. That's really all I'm saying about the new model. It's easy to sit here or wherever and critique the new bike....and throw out all kinds of 'facts'....but the bottom line is exactly what you asked..."have you ever ridden an....".It is a fact that the new bike has been redesigned in plenty of areas. It is a fact that the power delivery is smooth as glass, and immediate. The slipper works great. The styling is (to me) more in line with what the bike will do.That doesn't mean....the earlier ones were 'less'.I like the new styling.Others may hate it.And they can say so...it's all good. Some guys might hate the slipper...I like it.Doesn't mean their bikes are 'less'.

And I don't think THEY'RE less for wanting to keep their earlier models. But somehow,my joy about my bike is being turned into 'I'm better than you".I don't know how or why that's happening...but it is.So be it.My suggestion..and that's all it is(was)...to ride one is(was)only said because I know that 14 owners here want to have a great experience with their bikes.I only meant it as something that they would enjoy. That's all...no more,no less.Like you eating a certain food, and me not knowing what it tastes like, but you offer it as you said.."here,try this'...you want me to have the same good experience...you're not putting me down cause I might say.."no thanks".That's all this really is.

Sorry to anyone here if they thought or inferred that I was somehow dissing their rides or choices.I never meant it that way...at all.

Me saying "It's 'better'" is MY opinion of the difference between MY 07 and the new one.Not....YOUR whatever, and my new one. That's how I meant that.To ME...it's 'better' than my 07.

That girl doing the burnout was more her being so excited. She's all hopping about and that is how I see your enthusiasm taking that short ride. Lots of air punches... I just see a happy customer. How more pleased could mother teapot be?

No one is going to bring out a slower bike but to pounce on the older one gone obsolete and ain't that sweet?

Where was I in the beginning? Dis bike ain't fast enough and you, Grn, are on a slow machine... Kruz and I are waiting for big momma with matchbook abs motors, an ecu that is smaller and does more. Has mirrors in the winker kind of wink-wink down the road with some heated grips, and a cool pad for the scrotal area... Dis bike is not hot enough yet... Have fun on yours is.

I'm listening to months trickle down... Hey, did you hear the cars came down in price? What does that tell you? See? I'm going to scratch my nuts till I stop the itch. That, or take a shower. You see anything walking back there?

"just give it a rest".To any who think me talking about my new bike...that I should just shut up.....I direct your eyes to the TOPIC AREA of this thread......."All things pertaining to the zx14R...that's R"....so if yer not likin what I'm sayin...or whatever....mebbe you should stay on the zx14 GENERAL section.I don't own a zx14 anymore. I won't be going over there telling anyone what they should or shouldn't do..unless it's to help. This topic area is for the new bike owners.Sorry.Didn't mean to put it so bluntly.I'm gonna keep on givin kudos to all the new owners and their new 14's.I've had both now...guess that kinda gives me a right to speak about either one.Sorry.This new 14 isn't for everyone. Some aren't gonna like the styling ques and stuff Kawasaki did to her.Personally...I LOVE it.So far..there isn't anything I don't feel good about with this bike.As it should be.I felt the same about my 07.If this bike hadn't come along....I'd still be enjoyin my Bluebird.Things change....the earlier models are perfectly fine.Mod em to the rooftops.S'all good. The 14 is the best bike out there IMO.

"if the new bike is that great then gradually a consensus will form".And IF it doesn't,it's an epic fail?

I think she's great....awesome...all that...ya.You don't have to feel the same for me to feel how I do.....I'm not trying to 'keep up' with anyone.I ride cause I love it.Not to show others how cool I am.If NOBODY likes it....I still do.

I think the new bike does look very nice I love the color, and I am sure that its very fast But mine is paid for and the insurance costs 100.00 dollars a year. I'm sure most of us have been thru the payments, high insurance and cost of mods. I dont know about you guys but I aint going there again.

To much to list!

All right MeanGreen14, check out the decaf, some of the newer blends taste as good as the real thing and do wonders for your nerves.

But mine is paid for and the insurance costs 100.00 dollars a year.

With whom and with what level of coverage? It costs me $1000 a year for Liability/Comprehensive on 4 sportbikes and 1 cruiser with full collision coverage.

The only way I could get to $100 a month/per bike with my current carrier would be to go liability only on the sportbikes.

Bean07, Mate, I will make it to South OZ someday, it's on my "bucket list"!

Ricky Gadson just dyno'd his new 2012 vs a 2011...30 hp max difference and at 10,900 rpm on both bikes a 41hp difference develops due to the 2011 dropping of hp's. Crazy, crazy, crazy.... Grn 14 you really will be a flash ...Outside of the reviews already by Grn, Wheelie, Seno, soon Snuf....This was the comparision I was waiting for pre-gen's vs 2012. Once that engine is broke-in and a lil tweakin damn, damn it will push 200hp. All this for $14,900!! Enjoy the 2012 guys, I will be there is 2 yrs!

Like I said before opinions r opinions....I personally want more time with my 09 that's it but ur right about not modding the pre-gens if you looking for serious increase in hp or tq. You have to spend some serious $$$ to match a stock 2012......Grn14 Just remember with great power comes great responsiblity - LOL Enjoy!

RE: Another Good Review
12/09/11 1:21 PM

I just came back from a break-in ride....I'm at 79 miles now.I can say right now...this bike feels different than the other 14.It feels to me like it's more planted in the turns. It wants to hold a line very nicely. The sensation of speed is very subtle.Acceleration going through the gears is immediate and smooth. There is no bog feeling...in any gear. The clutch is excellent. It feels lighter than my 07.And it seems like it's not moving with any real force while shifting.

Was cruising at 70 in 6th...began a series of clutchless downshifts. It shifted smoothly, every shift...all the way into first.(rolling of course).Using the cluch, did the same thing...I could barely feel the motorcycle changing gears...it was amazingly seamless. No jarring...nothing.No wheel hop.Just smooth,at every speed.Upshifting without the clutch, excellent. No jerking, nothing. She just clicks right in.Either way...up OR down.I was not getting on it,but accelerating into and through a wideish turn(s),the bike chassis does not move. The shifting is solid. The power keeps pulling. The bike stays put.Doesn't seem to move anywhere on it's own, except where you point it.It's extremely stable and solid feeling. No bouncing over ripples or anything....the wheels are compressing and all..but the chassis feels perfectly stable.I don't know what they did to her...but this bike really does feel like a different machine in the handling dept...and every other way so far.It purrs at 1500 rpm moving as well as it purrs at 5,500 rpm.Or more.

What's really standing out in my mind right now is the ride feel. The suspension was 'tweaked' as they said...but even though it's actually a tad stiffer....it doesn't 'feel' harsh or anything at all....the seat soaks up vibes(which are virtually non-existent)...and the road imperfections you really don't feel.I didn't.Doing some quick manuevers..some swerves and such, the bike flicks right where ya put it.The feeling of being 'heavy' just isn't there.IDK why...but it's not.The bike feels very quick.

This thing will definitely wheely....most definitely...though I didn't try anything like that.I could feel her want to loft on several occassions, but I refrained from gassing her any more than quick accelerating.

So far...this bike is outperforming my 07 by miles.Really...it's that different.Yet the same. The ergos are VERY right for me on this bike.I can't see doing anything like risers at all. She's fitting just right.Seat's great.Softish, but firm as well.Hard to describe.Thicker feeling. When you're not 'thinking' about something...like the seat..while your riding, you know it's just how it should be.No squirming,no moving my arse to a different position.Just very comfy. In fact,I didn't think about the seat once except to note that it really feels great.

This is NOT the same bike. Not a facelift...not cheap cosmetics. This bike has been really reworked. It is VERY different.

One thing here...the noise level of the bike is(to me) much more acceptable...even with the stock mufflers on my 07.This bike is good to your ears.No earplugs today...and I could hear the motor an stuff clearly, nicely, but no loudness from the exhausts. The wind protection on this bike I have to say right here is(for me)perfect. There was(is)no buffeting when sitting slightly forward in the seat.Using a relaxed grip and arm/torso position.VERY nice.Quiet.I won't be needing another windscreen on there....that's for sure.Sitting back and square upright, steering with one hand...the wind was NOT hitting me.I'm very happy with this bike so far.She was getting 31.5mpg today....and that was with a lot of accelerations and decelerations type of riding.I'm pretty sure after break-in she's gonna do fine in the fuel burn dept. There's a small triangular/circle(s) deal on the display(letters ECO) that displays when you're in the best fuel efficiency riding.Pretty cool IMO.So you're not really having to go by rpms and speed anymore to get the best mileage...it displays when you are. When you're not,it disappears.

As for bodywork and fitment, the way things are designed visually on this bike, and the lack of gaps and all, gives the impression of solidness. It does feel like it's one machine...one piece going down the road.Hard to describe really, but the seating position and bar height and all, combined with the fairing shape, upper cowl/inner ram covers seem like one moulded part. The lack of chassis movement adds to the feeling of solidness. It's very cool. And there is minimal wind blast sound. The top part of the upper fairing, the new shape,is doing an excellent job at diverting the wind off the rider.

152 HP out of a 2011 ZX-14, was that before or after he started the engine? Seriously, that was obviously a sick running engine, check for a shop rag stuck in the intake....
