Well I haven,t had the time + other reasons to ride my 14R much yet, but we went for a short 3 hour ride Sunday,im a bit nervous on tight right bends due to my Leg and it was cold, but on the return trip my knee bent better and "boy o boy" she,s an animal, when I openend her up following my mate two-up she,s so angry/quick & sexy mid range in 4th gear it,s like when I first had my 2010 ZX14 but she is way better in many areas hey tell ya my MOF didn't feel to good going their, but on the return she said that was really oresume & fun lol, so im looking forward to riding her much more as the warmer weather will stop my knee freezing up.

I hear where you are coming from speaking from personal experience.... The stuttering I have had the past couple of weeks drove me crazy, literally. Went to the dealer on Saturday to find out when the 2013's were coming in... Yes, seriously was just going to buy a brand new one... That's how fed up I am also. Glad it was a simple fix and once Ivan maps it, no more mods.... Just time to enjoy it. BTW, If I had it to do all over again... Wind screen, levers, fluid tanks, pipe, PCV, ECU, rearsets and quickshifter would be my only mods. No WB2, no NOS, no alarm, no lowering links, no switch fan relay, no 43T sprocket... ETC. The more mods, the more headaches this bike has given me.... only have 3K miles on it now due to the fact I was working on as much as I have ridden it. Done...

Seno, What happened ???? NOS a pain in the Ass ??? Do Tell. My 14R is still bone stock with only 300 hundred kilometers on the clock. In it's current form needs all of the above.(soon) Your list of items looks good so why do you not like. ECU fighting back ????? All info Helps Good or Bad.

Grn's approach throws me off so I can't tell or learn from his posts.

Of course NOS is a pain in the ass.

It works on a drag strip. Other than that, its not worth the trouble.

What you see in Fast and Furious is hollywood bullshit. You can get about 8 seconds out of a NOS bottle and even the big ones they show in the movies would only last 30 seconds or so.

So other than at a drag strip, NOS is useless, because you might blow by someone but if they have more motor, they will overtake you and spank your weak bike.

Also, more hollywood bullshit, if you see the dual carbon fiber bottles in the lead guy's car, that much NOS would blow that little engine out of the engine compartment, if it was really being sprayed.

Each run spraying NOS eats away at the valves, valve seats, pistons, rings, and cylinder walls. Do it enough, and you will have to rebuild the motor at considerable cost.

It is annoying when people spread untrue information. Privateer, that's simply not true. Nitrous does NOT cause any of those on a properly tuned system. The problem stems from the mixture being too lean. That being said, I would not put nitrous on a street bike, as the cost of a tuning mistake is high, but for EXACTLY the same reason a turbo can kill an engine. Nitrous oxide works by adding a higher concentration of oxygen, which requires additional fuel to match the volume of oxygen. A turbo works by cramming more air (oxygen is a component of air) into the cylinders. Without additional fuel the mixture will be lean, cylinder temperatures skyrocket, and damage occurs. Do some research and you will see.

You are correct that Hollywood exaggerates for movies.

Don't take my last comments as real Romes...not at all...I love my 14R...just got tired of others posting how poorly their new bikes were doing. Not mine...runs perfecto! If they're truly having these issues....well....I don't know what to say...just seemed like a lot of the same complaints....pretty strange for a new bike that's logged so far so many good reviews and miles...not to mention sales.I've had ZERO issues with mine...and I've run er hard plenty. On my 3rd set now of tires...8,000 miles...no issues at all(except one of the meter bracket bolts/nut was 'not totally' tight...1/4 turn with the wrench...she was good to go.Besides...I'm not HUB...so no one's gonna listen to my stuff anyway!Fine with me.I'm just a Joe A with a great bike....

Grn, keep in mind others may be searching the net for info on this bike and come across your Negative Posts on this bike and think your really being Genuine, as did I. Did some reading and put the sarcasm together.

Off the grid for awhile(holiday)getting rusty.

Yeah - I've actually been doing more reading than posting here just because the "mood" has really changed since I joined... Not as fun as it used to be.

Ya sorta picked up on that too. Becomes Hard when to much emotion is placed in the threads.

Guys just won't post for fear of getting flamed. Getting to the bottom of a problem or asking a simple Question(which may be silly to others)just does not happen anymore. Now post count low. Guys read and post nothing. IMO

If I can Help I will, if worried send PM. Cheers

"Guys just won't post for fear of getting flamed"...I don't think it's that anymore...I did at first. The real reason I think is because Hub isn't here(by his own choice)and I 'got' to stay...which isn't true at all.....I stopped doing what I was doing...that's why I 'got' to stay.Smoldering resentment...that's what I sense is happening.I certainly haven't posted as much....out of 'respect' for the ones that think it was an 'unfair' deal.Oh well....everyone makes their own choices. We all were warned.Gotta admit...it DID stir some members here....as it was intended to do.In fun of course.

I've been trying since day one to get guys to post up the good times with not only their 14's,but the new 14R's.That's why these posts about stuff being"wrong" were becoming too much(to me)....now THAT could be...guys not saying anything aboput their new bikes because of how it unfolded way back when a couple of us got ours...yes...that could be.I could have been more tactful I imagine in talking about mine for instance. But it's water under the bridge now....never was meant to be a showdown between the new bike and the other ones.

Maybe it's just that more people are buying the 14R, and less problems to post. Most problems with the old 14 have already been covered. Or maybe it's all Grn's fault!

Just getting back on the forum. Was out of commission for a while. Grn's rant cracked me the hell up. I knew he was bullshittin'. That guy loves his 14R. Yo, I totalled my 14R in mid-Aug. Guess what? Bought another one 2 days ago. Everyone asked me why I bought the same bike. The answer was simple....because it's a muthafunkin' BEAST. I rode that joint in 45 degree weather last weekend when my buddies were saying it was too cold. GTF outta here. Put some layers on and roll out. I'll put 1K miles on it by the end of the week and then it's on. Give me a dry day over 45 degrees and I'm rolling. The bike is a pleasure to ride. I put over 10K miles on my other one in 6 months. Was nothing to ride 400 miles in one day. And I look for twisty roads every weekend.

Hey, you guys enjoy your whips and keep it safe. I'm glad to be riding again. Hated being laid up but I thank God it wasn't worse. My body armor saved my grits big time. So, please please brothers, purchase some hip/butt armor and knee/shin guards if you ride in jeans. That stuff REALLY works. I bought mine from Bohn and I'm glad I don't leave home without it.

Peace

I can attest to that, I always wear at least jeans with Kevlar in the knees, and butt etc ... those things saved me a lot of road rash in a pretty bad accident .......

The 14R is the best bike I've owed and thats quite a few. I've had over a 100, mostly brand new ones. Clearly riding is my passion but nothing has done it for me like the 14R.
